Well to be fair, Strelok, Nony, Mondragon, Cloud and Draco rock, Horror and Castro aren't that bad either, and Testie is always invited to such tournaments. These players should be able to produce decent games for sure. Of course we would have preferred names such as White-Ra, Dreiven, JF, Idra, Brat_OK and Dinot over some of the lesser players, but really the lineup does include some stars as is.

Imho, White-Ra should be autoinvite to such an event... . He never fails to deliver at such tournaments. Some of the names on the list are so far from the current top foreigners it's sad.

Yeah you're right...since the foreigners are underdogs, why even care that IEF's selection process was total garbage? It's not like we care about game quality or rewarding the best, most dedicated foreign players.
Oh and also, we should cancel the MST and OSL prelims because Flash and Jaedong are just going to win the Starleagues anyway. We can emulate IEF by selecting their opponents randomly, and thus save ourselves time.

It's not like they can be up-to-date about who plays on what level on what smurf...they have to go by something, I really don't see why some of you are throwing a temper tantrum over this.
Obviously one could pick better choices, more skilled people for more entertaining games - but damnit, at least be happy that some people in China are inviting a BUNCH of "eurotrash", and not just a few exceptional players like in the past.

actually koreans do know about idra and his BM. i met with a korean YGOSU rep at blizzcon and he asked me about my/foreign community's thoughts on idra's attitude etc
also when i said i was surprised that he knew about that, he said its "많이 알려져있어요" which can translate to "everyone knows about it"

I wasn't trying to be "on the cool-kid-Idra-bashing-bandwagon," I was stating what I have interpreted from other people who post after IdrA flames. I didn't say "the Koreans." You know what though? When IdrA gets off calling someone who beats him a "skillless noob" because he can't handle the fact that he got outplayed, I cringe a bit that I'm associated in the same group as him - an American. Yeah, I'm sure he does act well mannered when he loses to his CJ teammates and we haven't seen enough of what he can actually do on the big stage to say "yeah, he's a BM fucker there, too" or "Oh wow, he actually can accept a loss."

I think you are confusing Lucifer with Lucifron, who is invited. Sky is Chinese, so he doesn't need an invite. I don't know about Moon and ToD, they should probably have been invited.

Hmm if they are gonna pick a Bulgarian it should have been Lamer , he won WCG Bulgaria last year , even thought he didn't do as well in WCG finals as Masscata did . Thought Lamer is inactive as always when there are big events like WCG Bulgaria he normally brings his A - game and wins it . He's been a regular in WCG grand finals for some years now also he has good TvZ from what i've remembered . I'll be cheering for Masscata , even thought i don't like our protoss line - up and protoss in general .

IEF is a joint venture between korea and china.
