You have to be shitting me, skyhigh may not be as monstrous now as he used to be, but he was fucking good. Don't tell me you don't remember his reverse all-kill on hwaseung in the winner's league. Even if all the players weren't stellar, it's hard to win just one game when your team is down 0-3 and you have to win 4 in a row with JAEDONG as your first opponent. The pressure must have been enormous.

I'd say Fantasy has been more impressive this year, last month aside. 2 OSL silvers and a semi-final. 2-0 vs Jaedong in proleague finals>reverse all kill vs Oz imo. Oz without Jaedong is a joke so its basically 2 wins against JD vs 1 win against him. But he's #2 on the list for sure, too bad there arnt any other good up and coming terrans.

But fantasy isnt a rookie.

rough list I came up with

terrans:
bogus
last
turn
notice
classic
mvp

zergs:
killer
modesty
crazy-hydra
hydra
chavi
action

protosses:
gosi[flying]
stats
m18m
han
yoon
snow

Any egregious omissions/inclusions? It could probably be padded more.

I totally support making a new poll for 2010, that is one of the reasons I bumped this poll. The other was the insperation thread was about how wrong the Korean's were (picking Mind 70%), I had expected the same thing.

I wanted to say that Skyhigh was doing well so it wasn't as impressive that the overwhelming majority chose him. I guess I understated how well he did this year.

But (Z)Killer (Z)Modesty (Z)Crazy-Hydra and (P)yoOn debuted in 2007, isn't that too early to be considered rookies in 2010?

Rookie in this case is more a player that doesn't play much not someone who started this year. You normally don't see a player on TV for a long time after they go pro (Daniel Lee said it takes about a year).

yeah, that's why I talk about 2007 guys, it's perfectly fine to start in 2008 (that is, even almost 2 years ago for those from january)

Zero has topped out. He is a good management zerg but he isn't going to get much better. I think Roro has a chance just because Wemade sends him out so much. Not a bad player at all. Second is Type-B but again it seems like he is topping out.

Protoss is definitely Movie. He's good and he is definitely getting better with each game.

Impressive. Normally, we never get any predictions right.

But yeah, (Z)EffOrt's omission is probably the biggest error of this poll.

Given Effort's omission, this was a pretty good job by TL voters. Zero/Skyhigh/Movie were clearly the best players that were listed this year.

Zero and Movie are self-explanatory, both are top 5 players in their race at the moment for sure, and you could argue that both are as high as #2 (in Zero's case, though Calm and Effort are in the mix) or #3 (in Movie's case, though Kal is probably better).

Skyhigh has been a little off lately but he still won a lot of big games (Winners League obviously and also PL playoffs against Leta) this year and is the #1 PL Terran on CJ, which is a top 4 team for sure. He's also the last Terran to beat Flash in a straight up TvT (on Carthage) and is one hot streak away from re-entering the "top 3 Terrans" discussion. Bogus had a good run at the end of 09 but he didn't do nearly as much over the course of the year.

All in all, pretty good #1 ranks all around.

No man i had the same problem with the first one of these i came out with, it was like they had to have debued in the previous year and have less than so many games or else they arnt really rookies

btw violet started like mid 07 he wasnt a rookie when i put this poll out
