A few are saying CJ is a better team in general, and there's a few saying it's a good move and that IdrA can grow.

Wow, this is a big step up. I heard this on IRC and thought it was a joke to do with the shirts or something. Playing with the likes of sAviOr, GGPlay, Iris, XellOs... that's obviously going to have a huge positive effect on IdrA's gameplay. Good to hear he is improving rapidly and doing so well over there, keep it up man, we're cheering for you. Even if you're bad at interviews ~

He got a pro license after winning an in-house eSTRO tournament, who then traded him to CJ.

최근 4개월여 ‘이스트로’ 프로게임단에서 연습생 활동을 지속해왔던 그렉 필즈는 미국 뉴저지 출신으로 올해 만 19세. 미국 고등학교 졸업 후 곧바로 한국으로 건너와 현재까지는 한국 선수들의 경기 스타일과 모국에는 접할 수 없었던 한국 프로게이머들의 문화 등을 직접 체험하는데 중점을 두고 생활했다.

Greg Fields, who has been 'Estro' Pro-Team practice partner for last four months, is from New Jersey, USA and is 19 years old. He came over to Korea as soon as he graduated from the high school and is now living and fully experiencing the culture of Progaming which is only available here in Korea.

과거, 문화적 차이, 언어 장벽 등을 이유로 한국 생활에 실패한 여타 해외 출신 프로게이머와는 달리 빠른 적응력을 보여온 그렉은 “CJ엔투스와 같은 명문 게임단에 입단할 수 있다는 것이 꿈만 같다. 주어진 기회를 놓치지 않고 최선을 다하여 최고의 선수가 되고 싶다”고 그 소감을 전했다.

With incredibly fast adapting, Greg, unlike any of his preceders who failed due to their past, cultural differences, language barrier... etc., claimed "It is an honor to be a part of such famous team like of CJ Entus. With this given opportunity, I'll make the best use of it and become the best."

이미 해외 스타크래프트 팬 커뮤니티 사이에서는 최고의 유망주로 기대 받고 있는 그이지만 아직 한국의 벽은 높기만 한 것이 사실이다. CJ 엔투스 조규남 감독은 “아직 CJ엔투스 2군 선수들의 기량에도 못 미칠 정도의 수준이나, 기본기가 탄탄하고 여타 해외 선수와는 다르게 성실한 연습태도와 정신력을 가졌기에 향후 높은 발전이 기대된다”고 밝혔다.

It is true, much faith is placed upon him among the leading foreign Starcraft Fan Communities. However, it is also true that the challenge(skill gap) given by Korea is just as big. CJ Entus Coach Jo Gyu Nam said in an interview, "his skill does not even reach that of our 2nd team players, yet he has a solid mechanic/basic and is highly determined and motivated. I put much hope that he will improve drastically."

I know we have plans for a signed CJ shirt (by whom?) for charity auction, but imagine how much one would get signed by the whole team! We could cure cancer!

Thanks for the translation FCUK, it's always interesting to have some insight into what the Koreans think of their token foreign progamer. It's scary that he mentioned IdrA is not even at the level of their second-string players though. Although then again, I guess people like sAviOr are on their B-team so it's not like they are nobodies. Good to see that the motivated and eager mindset of IdrA has not changed over the months that he has been in Korea.
