SK텔레콤 T1 최연성 코치가 24일 평생의 반려자를 받아들였다.
최연성 코치는 24일 서울 강남구 청담동 뉴힐탑호텔에서 동갑내기 신부 김초롱씨와 결혼식을 갖고 "행복하게 살겠다"고 백년 가약을 맺었다.
최 연성의 결혼은 하객들로 북적거렸다. 최연성을 축하하기 위해 온 팬들에게도 결혼식을 지켜볼 수 있도록 배려해 결혼식장은 500명이 넘는 팬들이 찾아 축하 인파로 넘쳐났다. 최연성은 결혼식에 참석한 하객들에게 일일히 사인을 해주는 등 식장을 찾아 감사하다는 뜻을 표했다.
결혼식을 30분 가량 앞둔 오후 3시경 SK텔레콤 T1이 르까프 오즈를 3대0으로 제압했다는 소식을 들은 최연성은 "승리를 선사해 준 선수단에게 정말 고맙다"며 "3대0으로 빨리 경기를 끝내고 결혼식에 참석했으면 좋겠다"며 기쁨을 표현했다.
결혼식이 한창 진행되고 있는 가운데 SK텔레콤 선수단이 식장을 찾아 진심 어린 마음으로 축하에 동참했다. 프로리그 경기 해설을 끝내고 달려온 SK텔레콤 전 감독 주훈 해설 위원과 전 코치인 한국e스포츠 협회 서형석 대리도 결혼식에 참석해 최연성의 앞날을 축하해 줬다. 서형석 대리는 “몰래 멀티 하지 말고 최연성답게 물량 쭉쭉 뽑아내며 잘 살길 바란다”고 말해 결혼식에 참가한 관계자들의 웃음을 자아냈다.
SK텔레콤 선수들을 제외하고 유일하게 참석한 프로게이머는 위메이드의 이윤열. 선수시절 각별한 관계를 보인 이윤열은 최연성의 결혼을 축하해 주기 위해 한걸음에 달려왔다고. 결혼식 내내 뒤에 서서 자리를 뜨지 않고 끝까지 식을 지켜본 이윤열은 "연성이 형이 결혼하는 모습을 보니 나도 빨리 결혼하고 싶다"며 소감을 밝히기도.
박태민은 유리상자의 ‘신부에게’를 열창하며 최연성의 결혼을 축하했다. 쑥스러운 듯 간혹 박자를 놓치기도 했지만 끝까지 열정적으로 축가를 마친 박태민은 “두 사람이 영원히 행복하게 잘 살아서 첫 축가를 부른 추억을 아름답게 간직할 수 있도록 힘써 줬으면 좋겠다”고 말했다. 신부를 등에 태우고 팔굽혀 펴기를 한 최연성은 “봉 잡았다”를 외치며 튼튼한 체력을 과시했다.
