Hi TL,
as a follow up to my blog entry I hacked together a script that changes a few things on YouTube:
- Hides the comments
- Enables video download
- Paints the progress bar black on almost black
- Removes the time progress digits
- Enables real fullscreen mode (without progress bar/controls)
- Hides the related videos panel
- Removes the promoted videos panel (cause they suck)
All this is meant to present YouTube in a (almost) 100% spoiler free fashion. Also, real fullscreen rocks.
How to install:
- Use Firefox
- Get the latest Flash player plugin
- Install the Greasemonkey extension:
- Install this script: http://zatic.net/spoilerfreeyoutube.user.js
Example / How to use:
+ Show Spoiler +
Hint: you can still make out the progress bar on a good monitor. This will hopefully be resolved in the near future. For now, just jump into full screen.
Disclaimer: This hack is as dirty as it gets and may stop working any day. Please don't spread beyond TL as it requests stuff from my own web server.
(Posted in Broodwar as it doesn't really make sense to use this for anything but VOD viewing)

Hiding the comments is definitely a plus. Just having it there and your eyes wander is enough to spoil the game, especially when idiots are arguing and the result pops up in their comments.

Could you do that we cant see the progress bar in embed videos like in the small vod thread? That would be great

Nice! The spoilers were the reason I started uploading VODs on stage6 in the first place. With this, there is no reason to upload them anymore (except for people who want the good quality).

I dunno why but I like spoilers. I like knowing if my favorite players won the game or not (rendering it either a game worth watching or a game that's gonna put me down.)

Anyway, plz reinstall the script and try again. I didn't think of the localized Youtube versions like uk.youtube.com, maybe you used one of those.

plz PM or post the exact URL where it doesn't work. As stated, the script is a dirty hack and testing is at a "barely works for me" state atm.
