The past month or too, Bnet (on Europe region) has been okay for me, with a few hickups here and there. But the last couple of days, nothing has worked. Here are the issues I'm facing:
Download failed: When starting broodwar, the usual "Downloading settings" popup. However, around half the time, I get "Download failed" popup after. Related (I think?), when I'm exiting to desktop, I get a popup saying "Upload in progress. Really quit?".
If this was just a quirk in startup and shutdown, whatever, but when this happens, I usually get errors that makes me unable to start ladder games.
Can't find ladder (ranked) games: When searching for ranked games, one of a couple of things usually happen. It searches for some seconds, and the promts a useless error message, causing the search to end. Today (16th of september), everything looks fine, but I never get a game (waited 1300 seconds one time before giving up).
Chatting in the ingame chat, it seems I'm not alone in these problems. Do anyone know if something is being done, or if there exists a fix?
I feel like I've tried everything. I've reinstalled the game several times, reset the firewall settings an put broodwar on whitelist again, clicked my settings in Bnet until I could see my stats, but nothing is working atm...

It is not on your end, the problem is on Blizzard's end. The multiplayer battle.net functions on your session ID of the game making requests from the server through API commands/requests. Several of these currently only function about half of the time, sometimes even less than 20% of the time. I have had instances where it took 10+ attempts to get a response from the server. there isnnothing you can do to fix this, because blizzard has to fix the problem in their end.

Exact same problem. I tried switching the launcher to Asia or Europe (from my default Americas) but while it used to take care of such issues in the past, lately it seems equally random. Sometimes (often) Asia works better, but sometimes it alao doesn't and i have to rotate for that one session. Sometimes it also breaks mid session as in i d play 3 games and the 4th returns the error...

I got the PURCHASE NOW bug too after 4 hours in queue..

I have the same issues as described here, and issues seem to occur less often by switching to Asia instead of Americas.
However, right now i'm having a new problem - ladder is searching for a game forever and never finding anything. Estimated time: 46s. Elapsed Time: 1000s and counting. I've reset many times, tried various combos of launch server, accounts on different servers, etc.. Seems completely broken right now, which is new for me. Is ladder broken today, or is it just me?
In the meantime, installing shieldbattery and trying it out.

ladder is down today it seems yea

watched soma’s proleague stream last night and they were also having issues during proleague. they launched sc through “americas” and got a better experience
unless server issues got worse since then

Gold .and true.
But seems worse now it feels like a lottery just even logging in. It s not impossible it s a side effect of the Warcraft 3 changes but still...what a mess. On the bright side, more time for other games (hello DCS~)
