I don't think there is a real group of death to be honest, group D or E probably looks the hardest to advance in though.

That'd be fun to cast. "He's putting pressure on 930501's natural". But hey, if they're not gonna call Shuttle "eyewater" I can't see the casters calling him that though.
Voted C but every group has one weak player so I can't see any death in any of the groups really. Glad to see four first-timers to ASL, two of which I've never heard of before.

Also, season of the Zergs? Let's goooo!
I am only aware of 3. ByuL, yerim2, Sacsri. Who is the 4th?

Killer, but I see he has played previously now as a wildcard... but three is still nice.
a lot of players have been practicing on sylphide and autobahn so i guess it sounds like more than not they are in the map pool. khj said that neo transistor would also be put in. question is now the mystery 4th map.

Excited to see Group E and also Sharp vs yerim2 though. His ZvT looked promising in the qualifiers.
Remember, these are just the initial bo1s, they've got to play 2-3 of the people in the group to advance, so it's impossible for them to be knocked out purely based on a ZvZ. Overall these groups are looking probably the most spread/balanced I've seen in ASL so far.

Yea, you're right -- the Zerg players really are spread out perfectly in this ro24. It's just that EffOrt and Jaedong are my two favorite players and their first games are ZvZ which has been a huge problem for both of them. I think I'm just having flashbacks to ASL4 and ASL5 is all.
I guess it doesn't really matter now anyways though. I had such high hopes for EffOrt in season 4 & 5 so it was sad to see him get knocked out that way when he actually had a chance of winning the tournament, but he's not nearly as strong as he used to be these days.

He has stated he's not participating, I don't think there was really a reason given by Larva.
I would say group E is group of death. Last(second best terran?), Soulkey(best zerg), Rush(solid player with insane TvT) and Calm(Not sure how good he is atm)

Two that I'm aware of. Note I'm going by what I read on Ygosu.
First he cited the stress from attending ASL because everyone Korean crap on him whether he wins or loses. Lose too quickly? 광탈구 (Lightspeed exit + Hongu). Beat JD in a ZvZ? JD fans go ham on his Afreecatv page. Beat JD and effort after scouting perfectly during the time where there was a bug that allowed you to know starting locations by opening the alliance tab? Far worse. Reportedly he even went to a psychologist.
The second is that he said on stream something along the lines of "I feel no need to participate in ASL as I make plenty without it." But I'm inclined to believe this is in defense because he attends every other tournament like the DSL.
Note Larva is known by Koreans to an asshole, so much so that if홍구 law (if Larva law) has been popularized. This law works by substituting Larva into any situation, and the substitutes person suddenly becomes at fault due to his reputation. The opposite of this law is ifHero.

Seems weird, he was always the kind of guy that tries to be controversial, did it become too much?

I never heard of that alliance tab bug wtf
Blizzard rolled in a patch so that the colours were preset to be easily identifiable (so no orange vs brown). But they did this in a way that in a three/four player map the colours were locked to a position. There was a collective outrage when the bug was discovered, and later fixed, and Larva just so happened to one-search his opponents that night. Personally, I say kudos if he did discover this bug, although he denied it.
Although I do think online haters went across the line, I think it's important to note that Larva is no angel either.

Let's also note that this type of scenario can hide a silent ban or something like that. Worth considering, although I doubt it.
Anyhow, the guy to me doesn't seem to be in the right head space at the moment. He's losing to all sorts of noob plays on ladder. He seems to have lost his competitive desire which is a shame since he was rightfully a Top3 zerg at some point and a very good watch no matter who he was up against.
I've always wondered why nearly all the SC pro-gamers are so incredibly dull in interviews. Maybe I understand a bit better now, after reading about what Larva gets for having a personality :o

I know Flash was taking a break. Why was he and when will be be back?
Why is Killer called Minidong?
EDIT: I see now that Flash was seeded from Season 5. Why did Larva withdraw from the WC Qualifier?
Flash didn't really take a break, he just couldn't qualify for KSL because he was in China during that time and he is seeded into ASL6 so he didnt have to play games yet.
Killer is called Minidong because he was a younger player in the team of Jaedong (Lecaf Oz) and also a zerg. So he was Jaedong's student in some ways.
Heads-up: Group F is incorrectly listed in the 'upcoming events' calendar in the stream side bar. The time is given 2 hours late as the normal 7PM KST, instead of the out of the ordinary 5PM KST that group F will be broadcast.
