And yeah a few tournaments like HAY and STPL allow koreans, others like BSL and BWCL do not. Afaik the rules are that in order to play, you must be living in a country other than korea..so people like jaeyun and cross are considered american/canadian, while chaelyn is considered korean. I mean, these players are already clearly labelled with the correct flags, so it seems you already know where to draw the line lol. Just remove all the ones with korean flags..I dont see that theres any confusion really. It's just a question if you show them in the final ranking or not. You need them as reference, else the scores are skewed and biased. Same reason that walk overs shouldn't count toward your ranking, it adds needless variance statistically speaking as those are not related to your skill.

the ranking system is a nice idea but the execution is suspect

Perhaps if you had a seperate Global Ranking where it had both the Koreans and Foreigners who play in foreign tournaments and just a foreign one where you remove all koreans? That way you get the best of both worlds.

Dewalt even beat Shine for instance in a tournament macro game, albeit a Bo1 that's a huge achievement. Perhaps dewalt and bonyth are able to do well in laggy games in PvZ sometimes, but it's meaningless entirely.
