tell him to play the campaigns without saving. saving makes it alot easier though more tedious. and it's obviously less like a real game. also games vs computers or multiple computers is good. and you did tell him to make 'newbs only' didn't you? 'cause there are some gigantic newbs on b.net from time to time. just have to find someone his level who's on twice a week at least.

Before I started writing scripts, My 10 year old nephew and I would play a lot of TEAM MELEE (not Melee) vs comps on our small LAN. This was a great format because w/ the shared units, he didn't feel as vulnerable and was more aggressive than playing melee alone. We had a lot of FUN! Finding the time for you to play Team Melee however is another story.

Also, are the norm comps melee too tuff? I also made a KID'S STUFF ai for a friends kid. Here the comp just makes a massive dfnce and sends out light waves of attack. After 4O mins or so, if comp hasn't been beat it would LASH out! This served to keep the kid somewhat aggressive and so the game had an END! "Just let me finish this game, Dad" was never an issue!

I check out the old file... goof w/ it a bit these next couple evenings then send it to you over weekend.
