Pic thanks to Replays.hu always providing us with replays, replays packs and funny pics. This one is of course racist even though it is done in honor of humor. I do not know who the author is.

Chatting with geoff about neo-nazi symbolism, I was reminded of an old humorous debate. Is StarCraft racist? Not many black characters, and the few that we can find occupy negative or lowly positions of SCV. Women too don't fare much better. There are several quotes also that at to say the least odd.
Back to the word honor. The Warcraft Book written by Blizzard's Chris Metzen himself http://www.blizzard.co.uk/books/WarcraftOBH.shtml uses the title WarCraft: Of Blood and Honor. The choice of words in reminiscent of the very motto of Hitlerjungend, i.e. Hitler's Youth had it engraved in the uniform blades, which was supposed to highlight the "never surrender" spirit. . Blood and Honor happens also to be one of largest neo-Nazi militant networks today that coincidentally was born out of a lose associations of punk, metal bands & its fans initially. + Show Spoiler +
Everyone knows too that a few at Blizzard from part of the band called "Level 60 Elite Tauren Chieftain." (a heavy metal band with punk affinity)
This is from their most famous song..
"Farseer to the Warsong clan, To no matter will I kneel. Feel the power and the energy, For the black blood, honor and steel."
The word horde too has often been used as an adjective to describe Nazi members: "The Nazi Horde." But this is an even older story, as it goes all the way back to the Lord of the Rings and Tolkein **

blah blah.. I get carried away in my boredom sometimes. ..

Some one brought this old debate at newsground and did not get too much sympathy from the forum members. Some of the replies are funny, some not. Let me quote his post:
Posted by Mop-Top (I hope it is not Testie) Starcraft is Sexist and Racist.
1)There was only 2 black people in the whole game 2)1 black was an insignificant worker 3)The other seems to be evil (betrayed UED, helped Kerrigan, and now mixing different species genes. 4)The only girls were a medic, transport, and valkeries and a robot (Which isn't exactly human) 5)Everyone seemed to be a bit redneck
I don't think the firebat is black. I'm pretty sure he ain't.
Retarded ytmnd site that points out what many of us might have already noticed when we first played Starcraft. http://scracism.ytmnd.com/

Anyway, putting it to a vote
Poll: Is StarCraft Racist? (Vote): 28/88! (Vote): Yea, but just came out subconsiously (Vote): No, it is racists ONLY to racists minds (Vote): No more than Command & Conquer (Vote): Yes! (Vote): It is just a game dude..
ultra-anti-rascist just busting to point the finger at people and say YOURE RASCIST
jesus fucking christ just like the fucking idiots who pointed out that OMFG THERE ARE NO BLACK PPL IN THE SHOW "FRIENDS" THEREFORE ALL THE PPL IN IT the director, producer, actors etc etc ARE ALL RASCIST OMFG SUE UR FUCKING ASS
gg well... uhh... there are no black actors... so what?
It is just a game. But really look @ Nova. She is the heroine to a game that never got made. It's just a game. The game itself isn't racist since it doesn't put any race "down". At worst SC plays favorites. Sometimes I think people dig a little too much to what isn't there.
its only racist if youre jesse jackson and you got bored out of making up racial claims in real life situations (kinda like the strip club shooting, where 2 cops were black and anothre 2 were spanish)
if it was racist, the marines would be black, since theyre the first to die.
id like to add in tho cuz i foudn it hilarious when i read it, a quote from a zvt guide from (sadist? idk, whoever made the hilarious zvt guide a few months back with pics on luna)
"if you see a nigger in a space suit running around, be sure to kill it"
What about D2? Why's the only black guy a paladin, huh? Oh crap Harry Potter's talking about witchcraft, that's the devil's work!! And what's up with cactuars from Final fantasy 7? Shit we've been subconsciously brainwashed by Squaresoft since day one...
There are supremacists with websites, their own musics albums out, and marching around proclaiming their rights, but WHO CARES about them when there are such obvious conspiracies in gamess!? the swastika was originally hindu/buddhist, so I won't even go into that. Besides terran, its kinda hard to tell what gender the units are. If you look at most any military around the world, 95%+ of the troops are male. In the US, women can't even serve in the infantry or submarines etc. So you might as well say all of mankind (lawl i said mankind instead of human kind, quick, castrate me) is sexist. If you look at how much supply you use up and how much of that supply is comprised of SCV's, there is a rather high % of black people in your average game of SC. WTF is up w/ ppl and "racism aganst blacks"? Where are the hispanic units, the Indians, the Asians? But if you look at the leading countries in the current "space race thingie", next to all of the astronauts etc are white males. In short, the entire idea of SC being racist/sexist is nothing but utter stupidity. Cream cheese and potato salad are both very tasty.
IIRC the terran colonies were founded by prison trash exiled from earth...given the racial contents of our prisons today I'd say terran diversity in BW is fairly represented.
Allowing women to fight as grunts defeats the purpose of fighting in the first place
Damn why does everyone think the SCV is black? It's just a combination of poor lighting in the suit and he's supposed to be a farmer-tanned redneck. Listen to this voice, people! Clearly a stereotypical (caucasian!) redneck.
Also Kerrigen looks black to me. Didn't she have braids?
[Edit] Also, a lot of Blizzard's characters are winks at pop culture. Dropship woman-> Aliens. Black Palladin -> Othello. The hard-ass grunt marine is from everywhere.
Also the lack of blacks and all the 50's style stuff (medics, Terran cut-scenes) could be based on the fact that the SC world is heavily influenced by the book Starship Troopers.
