Midas can't quite come to terms with the close loss. At first, his expression shows it all. Then he opens the replay of game 4 on 815. Before that game, Midas was up 2-1. He seemed to have the upper hand when Savior harrassed him to death, cutting off his mining. Midas eventually lost that game. The commentators say:
Caster: He's watching a replay... of the game on 815 III? Commentator 1: Yes. That's the game he should have won. That's the game he should have won. Midas knows it too. It's no use looking at the replay now, but because Midas was so close to getting to the first Finals of his life, he can't help but look at the match again.
Then they talk about how it would have been Midas' first finals, and how the loss is hard to swallow.
The final shot, most of the fans have left, Savior has left, the arena is pretty much empty... and Midas is sitting alone staring at the score screen. Even the commentators can't find the right words for that image.
I personally think that he would have won against any zerg but Savior that day. His TvZ has improved tremendously since he joined T1. It's just that Savior is a fucking ZvT monster (Midas could have won 3-1 though, with one or two better decisions during the 815 game... it was so close).
His only problem is his nervousness imho (although for some reason, he looks far more self-confident in proleague, which is confirmed by his amazing record).
Poor Midas...one my favorite players. I really want him and Iris to make it big, I've liked them from the start but they always get pulled up just short

probably b/c he knows his teammates have his back, even if he does his best but still loses. There's less pressure for one individual player in proleague, for each game (unless it's facing elimination of course =P but you get the jist of it i'm sure).
Midas is awesome. He's a player with great potencial, this was one of his best perfomances all along his ProGamers career. Someday we will see Midas raising a MSL or OSL cup i know . Gogo Midas!
btw, I wouldn't mind seeing Midas take a OSL, I would love to see him Smiling for ONCE! .
Awwwh, man I just watched the video, he looked really really sad, maybe SKT1 will get rid of him or something?, I dunno, but something was up . He's a star in the making tho, he has a lot of potential, in the upcoming leagues he will be wining his first! .
After watching the VOD excerpt.. LOL!!! Midas is a pussy. He looks all pink eyed.. I mean, chin up man, he should know he is capable. lol... he didn't even lose a final but a semi final.. ~_~
hmm woulda been pretty cool if it were a nal_ra vs midas final :O (However, you shoulda seen goodfriend after he lost to nada at the msl qualifiers -_-; sitting lonely in his booth, watching taht replay on arcadia over and over again.)
mumyung for team captain! midas is fucking amazing man, everyone's said it so far but i want to say it again: he's definitely going to do something big soon. i vote for him every time on liquibet even in matchups i think he's weak in and he rarely disappoints
slightly off topic, but i'm sometimes bothered when i see midas pinching the area (bone) b/w his eyes (top part of nose). I understand it's for like, massaging purposes and to revieve stress from his eyes, but seeign it on TV is -___-;;

perhaps you should make a thread about it, suggesting him to change?

he's performed well, doing it frequently (in proleague etc as well) so there's really no point of requesting a change. It's like women's tennis and grunting. It's displeasing to the spectator, but efforts to eliminate/decrease it have resulted in worse play from the players (kinda lol here).
you have to realize what kind of pressure he was under at the time too. If I remember right there was a FiFo article about it before the semi-final I think. Midas is part of the 6-figure club ($100,000+ a year) in SKT1, but he's also the only one NOT to have won a major tournament. In fact, I don't think he has gotten even close prior to that semi-final. They pay him a lot of money, I guess because he has the potential, but I think he was afraid/under pressure that they might cut him if he turns out to be a flop.
oh and I forgot, didn't he beat a bunch of his team mates to get to that spot? I guess he felt like he let his team down too.
I feel sorry for the guy. This goes to show his motivation/determination to be the best though. Call him a pussy all you want. The guy wears his passion for the game on his sleeve. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with that. He doesn't try to hide it. He just won a shitload of respect from me.

He hasn't won any major tournaments, ok that's fine. But he has saved the whole team, and won a bunch of Ace Matches, that has to mean something, if he doesn't win a Major leauge, is a bitch too, but if he continues to save his team, from losing matches in PL, then to me, it is all fine.

Hm, probably a personality thing I guess.. I can guarantee you I'd be 10 times more nervous before a Proleague game than a regular individual league game, especially if I had the same coach as midas -__-

There you go Beat his two 선배 테란 only to lose better luck to him though, I always kinda liked him

I guess, but I don't think proleague aces alone are deserving of his salary. If he doesn't at least make an OSL or MSL final soon I'd go so far as to say that he never deserved to get paid that much in the first place.

that was pretty gorgeous. good work by the film crew.
anyone who thinks ill of him for crying is trying to be macho imo. as was thrice affirmed above, I respect and admire his blatant love of something I too care about. think about how much he must have worked for this, how much he must have thought about it, imagined it, put into it. And it's gone.
You can see how empty of a feeling it must have been.
I love to see that kind of commitment and love for what he does. Bcuz to him that loss may have felt like he had lost the world cup semi-final... probably. He's still my favourite SKT1 Terran. gogogo <3 Midas.
i have to say that Midas vs rA finals would be 100% cooler than what we saw yesterday - pure savior domination. But then again savior earned his victory. Anyway, the bottom line is that Midas is cool and you all know it, so let's hope next time he'll be alright with his nerves.
