Well the situation wouldn't have occurred if I wasn't there though, but I guess it was a long time coming. For anyone wondering the mod in question was Voodru.

Is all the revenue going to Sonic? Should be possible to send some directly to the players also.

Although that is a good idea in theory, who decides how much each player gets? Splitting all the money among all the players would net each one less than 5$ each. I'm sure they would all rather have the money go towards more tournaments

HEY GUYS I'm just asking to myself this question everytime i saw "snipealot live" on the right of TL's Frontpage
SO can someone explain me ? Whats is really afreecaTV ? I heard it's a restream Is that true ? a restream of which competition ? League ? Korea or Foreigners?
Thanks in advance
|
Afreeca TV is like a korean version of Twitch TV, except perhaps more advanced with a longer history. A lot of korean ex-progamers stream their games on Afreeca to make a living (or just gather extra money OR just to have fun), they participate in amateur korean leagues.
Snipealot restreams these ex-pros and game broadcasts. It's all korean. The biggest competition right now is Sonic StarLeague: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=400650

Since you are in contact with Sonic would organzing showmatches between some of the sospa players and the top foreigners be possible? I mean Sziky for instance has shown has that he can take games off of them.

I haven't tried to organize anything but Eywa has been promising stuff to sonic since november last year, it comes up every now and again but always falls through.

Nothing to do with me but he contacted sonic through facebook back then promising some stuff. You might've noticed every once in a while there have been some showmatches ("TL Allstars vs Sonic allstars" etc.) planned that get called off last minute. That is as far as I know Eywas plans falling through. It doesn't matter that much anyway though as when I saw him contact sonic back then(he initially posted on sonics wall to get in touch with him), sonic asked me to translate some stuff. I looked up Eywa back then(had no idea who it was) and figured he was a bit of flake, so I told sonic to be careful and not to be too disappointed if Eywa couldn't keep his promises.
Edit: As you all know, sonic is pretty good at adapting to last minute changes. I honestly believe Eywa attempting to set stuff like this up is a good thing, even if the plans keep falling through. Sonic isn't disappointed as he was warned in advance, and he always has backup plans for broadcasting nights.

Every time I read up on Eywa he's making the foreign scene look bad. Which is a shame b/c I feel the Korean scene might not want to be associated with us.
