This sucks. I was never a big follower of BW, but eSports is eSports is eSports.

On the lighter side, the Flash killing BW bit made me lol.

Well I never followed the BW scene but it is still sad to see such a big part of Esport history fading away.

JD to KT is probably more likely, CJ probably has the money too... but I think its better if Oz, MBC, and Fox combine to form a new team under korean air, with a lineup like JD, Baby, Sea, roro, killer and Jaehoon as a lineup is pretty decent, hiya, shine, and mind can probably pull their weight too.

Korean Air would immediately be on the level of CJ, if not better.

I'm still keeping my Oz tag though.

I mean the influx of new players from the foreign scene to BW is probably about as close to zero as it gets. I assume that very few young koreans start to pick up BW today as well. Hence are the pro players that are playing BW are most probably the last generation pro BW players.

Add to this that the falling numbers of viewers in Korea (so have I heard at least), and very much so in the rest of the world. I mean I know like 10 people that watch SC2 in Sweden, none of them watched BW before.

So we end up with a finite number of players and a dropping interest from the world. In the other corner we have SC2 that are growing like a wet sponge in both interest and in amount of prize pools. Thus BW is living on borrowed time at is more a question of when rather then if BW is going down.

Funny thing that the downfall of BW might to some extent actually threaten the development of SC2. If that BW players will dominate SC2 as much as many people believe (I have a more "I believe it when I see it approach") it will actually threaten the development of SC2 as the first large scale global esport.

A sport where one country completely dominate all other countries have never and will never be great. Thus the last thing SC2 needs is for Korea to become even more dominating, especially now when Europe is starting (imho ) to get at least a little bit closer to the Koreans. And although BW was large in Korea it really wasnt that great outside of it. I know this blasphemy according to the users of this forum but you might see that you are not to the most objective crowd in this matter. Given that this is the N1 (by far I would think) largest BW community in the foreign world.

How or why would you temp ban someone for expressing this? Did he hurt your fragile feelings because most of it is generally true?

The gestapo mods of this site are the worst I've ever seen, many times I have failed to detect any reasonable rationale to most of their actions and the result is deterring people from posting what they think.

This is a general problem with many of the people that run this site- arrogance and indifference to its users.

Funnily enough, I only come here for broodwar, so once it dwindles I'll stick to GOM, MLG, wellplayed, S2casts etc- much more professional outfits with less ego crazy staff. Hopefully this site will eventually dissolve into a cultish elitist outback forum, while other sites begin to flourish.

Fail mods are fail. I'm looking forward to the ban, I even registered for it :D

The original poster- if it's not you- will have a reason expressed to them (probably broodwar-sc2 debate). There's no gestapo on this website. The moderators are some of the best on the internet. People just don't like it when they're told that they don't have the right to express any opinion that they want.

They also happen to own the site, so they can censor whatever they please at their discretion.

And you know, enforce that big warning at the top of the page?

They might as well switch to playing darts. Saying that it's better that they move to SC2 is no consolation. I couldn't care less about SC2. I wouldn't even if Jaedong and Flash played it.

And have you ever heard of solidarity? Of course I want to stick with Broodwar until the (possibly) bitter end. It has given me so much. Why abandon it now?
