It's mothereffing TAEKBANGLEESSANG ya'll. The OSL gods are pleased~
Bisu, "If I can just get to the Ro8, I can win this OSL" "I hope I can ride this momentum into next week"
- This is your first win in the Ro16. ▲ I won this first victory a bit uneasily. But still, I think it’s a relief that I was able to win. I really wanted to win last week but luck just wasn’t on my side. Through today’s win, I hope to ride this momentum over to next week as well.
- Action’s play was threatening. ▲ It was pretty threatening. There was a moment I almost couldn’t block him but I think I was lucky. I think Action also mis-microed a bit… Because Action wasn’t using an all-in build but rather a build where you put pressure on while producing drones, I'm sure he also thought he could’ve had the game as well.
- Your next opponent is EffOrt. ▲ The map is a bit difficult. It’s Flight-Dreamliner but I think I’ll have to practice more if I want to play better. Although the map is hard, I hope things play out well.
- It feels like your game wasn’t the cleanest. ▲ My opponent was putting pressure on and held the initiative in that regard so there wasn’t much I could do about that. It is true that I lost some units that I shouldn’t have and that my play could’ve been cleaner.
- Did you have enough practice time? ▲ I’ve been practicing for this alongside practice for the finals. Because the OSL match was first, in terms of my schedule it wasn’t that difficult.
- Now you’re probably going to focus on proleague. ▲ After today’s matches, I’m going to head down to Pusan. Starting from tomorrow, I’m going to focus hard on practice.
- You have the proleague finals ahead of you, again. ▲ I’m anticipating a lot. Because we’re going two years in a row, I think we’re at more of an advantage. However, it’s true that I’m nervous as well. After getting used to the location, I want to be able to show our fans only the best performance.
- You’re the only one in TaekBangLeeSsang who has yet to earn an OSL title. ▲ If I can just get through the Ro16 I think it’s very possible to win it. If I can get to the Ro8, even if it’s not the finals, I can at least look forward to the semis. As long as I qualify for the Ro8, I know I’ll be able to show higher results. The Ro16 is definitely the hardest.
Flash, "Now I'll be able to focus solely on the finals" "I'll make sure I get to the Ro8 without losing a single game"
- You just won your second game. ▲ I’m so happy I won twice. I said I would win all my games before the finals and I’m glad I was able to keep that promise. Tomorrow I’m playing fOrGG hyung in the MSL but I hope people can leave that match out of my ‘no-losses-before-finals’ promise (laughs). It’s a match that doesn’t affect me even if I lose. Now I’ll be able to focus solely on the grand finals.
- Many people have said that Flight-Dreamliner is a hard map. ▲ Because I didn’t have that much time to practice, I decided to use the play I’m most confident in. My aim was to have a management game today.
- But the game ended rather quickly. ▲ In order to delay his mutalisk timing and make my opponent poor, I decided to attack. I did so hoping to do some damage but the game just ended.
- Your next opponent is HiyA. ▲ I’m very sure I’ll get to the Ro8. I’m overflowing with confidence right now. I’ll make sure to win next week as well so that I can get to the Ro8 without losses.
- Tomorrow you’re playing fOrGG in a team-kill match. ▲ I was really sad. fOrGG hyung and I cheered on RorO together but regretfully, things turned out this way. We just said that no matter who wins, we hope the winner will take the whole thing.
- The proleague grand finals are now right in front of you. ▲ In terms of my condition, I’m totally, absolutely at my tip-top shape. [t/n: he actually said it like this lol] I rested as much as I needed, too. It’s not just me but my entire team is in a situation where we can focus solely on the finals. Though we don’t have any momentum to ride on at the moment, we’ve been working on staying in good condition daily. It’ll be a battle between momentum and condition. Though it’s hard to anticipate who will win, I want to say that all of us earnestly desire this victory.
- You must be regretful about your 2nd place last season. ▲ To be completely honest I was always very greedy about winning everything (laughs). It’s not just the OSL – I want to do well in both individual leagues and the proleague. In terms of last season’s record, I do hold some regrets in how things turned out, but I hope to rest this season on my skills and climb up steadily.
- Last words you want to say? ▲ I’m already heavily anticipating the finals match with SK Telecom. Last time we threw some challenging words at SK Telecom but I hope they will understand. It’s the finals match, and this finals is THE grand finals. If we entered the match with things being too quiet it would’ve been boring so we did it to spice things up. Personally, I think of SK Telecom very highly. I hope they will see it as entertaining, not offensive.
Jaedong, "I'll have to work on staying grounded and not losing focus" "The only thought I had was that if I lost, I was out"
- You just won your first win in the Ro16. ▲ To be honest, I was really nervous today. Knowing that if I lost, I’d be out, I kept thinking about the day I lost my first match. Every time I thought about it my face would flush. I’ve never started the Ro16 with a loss, so I knew this was a critical moment. Since it was a zvz I practiced even harder. Because the results were good, I was able to let go of some of my anxiety.
- You must be disappointed about your last game with Sea. ▲ I’m a bit disappointed with that last game. It was a close game, and there was a moment I could have won. Sea never lost focus and defended well through the game. That’s why I lost. I’m trying not to linger on it.
- Don’t you think your persistence with mutalisks was the reason for your loss? ▲ It was what I came prepared with. I felt like an ambiguous change in play would result in a loss. Though I attacked persistently, the results were disappointing. If I had prepared more things could’ve gone better, but it wasn’t enough.
- You came out on top after the zergling battle. ▲ In terms of builds, I thought I definitely could not lose. Spawning location, build – everything was in my favor. However, with things going so well I got even more nervous. I kept telling myself to stay calm. Today, luck was on my side.
- Your next opponent is Pure. You should be confident. [t/n: lol burn] ▲ First of all, I hope Sea wins 3 times. This is because I have a chance to have a rematch with him anyway. With my remaining time I’ll prepare really hard and attain 2 wins so I hope Sea can also get 3 wins so we can advance together.
- Tomorrow you’re playing Sea in the MSL. ▲ I’m really looking forward to it. Though I practiced a lot for tomorrow’s match, as a whole I don’t think the map is favorable for zerg. I felt this way as I practiced. Though there will be some difficult parts, I see this as a good opportunity. After preparing a lot to advance to a higher level by overcoming some difficulties, I’m looking forward to it, and I see this as a good opportunity to test myself.
- Because you’re in a situation where you can focus solely on individual leagues, you must be really ambitious. ▲ It’s true. However, it’s a bit of a strange feeling. Usually, I always practiced for proleague along with individual league games. Nowadays, all I have to do is practice for individual league games. It’s not as great as I thought it would be. Though I can focus more, it’s also easier to loosen up too much. I’m the type of player that needs to be playing in all leagues to keep my competitive spirit up and not lose it. There’s a greater chance of me getting lazy now so I’m a bit regretful about that. I’ll have to work on staying grounded and concentrating even more.
- The WCG prelims are soon – are you hoping for a 2nd consecutive Gold medal? ▲ As I prepare more for games I start feeling fueled and perform better as a result. My results improve as well (laughs)… I do want to win WCG. Because this is a rare opportunity where I don’t have proleague to practice for, I want to do even better. There’s still some time left until WCG. I also definitely want to go to America.
- Today all of TaekBangLeeSsang had a game – did you think about the other players’ games? ▲ The only thought in my head was that if I lost, I’d be out (laughs).
- Last words you want to say? ▲ Recently, we had a soccer match with Samsung Khan. As far as we knew, it was a bet (laughs). All our teammates thought this too so we all ran until we burned out. However, once the match ended, we found out it wasn’t a bet. We were so disappointed. But still, we gained a lot of confidence in our soccer abilities. Whenever we played other people on the field, we always lost, but I think in the progaming world we’re pretty good. [t/n: LOLOL] Though it was disappointing that it wasn’t a bet, if we play another team, I hope we can bet on it so we can earn a free meal.
Stork, "Next week I'll be able to play more comfortably" "Thank you so much for the birthday wishes"
- You succeeded on qualifying for the Ro8 – your thoughts? ▲ I was nervous and on top of that, because it’s my birthday I thought if I lost my mood would be ruined. There were a lot of things in mind as I entered this game. I was so tense that when the game ended and I exited the booth, my legs almost gave way. Now that things are certain, I’ll be able to play next week’s game more comfortably.
- You suffered a lot of harass this game. ▲ After his shuttle-reaver arrived and I saw his 1st reaver, I knew he would bring his 2nd reaver as well. I just didn’t know that 2 shuttles would arrive. I thought to myself, “Wow, Kal really is good at harass”. However, after deciding that I had more units than he did, I just went through with my attack.
- It’s been said that you made a promise with free on battlenet. ▲ I said it first. I said we should go to the Ro8 together. My pvp results haven’t been so great lately so after my first win I was nervous that I would lose twice. So I said after I win today and we’re both sure to qualify, let’s just play our final game comfortably. I helped free with practice but after his match ended, he just disappeared (laughs). He’s a jerk (laughs). He’s not coming onto battlenet anymore – I think he’s just enjoying his break.
- Now that you’ve qualified for the Ro8, any words on your next game with free? ▲ Honestly, I think I’m going to lose (laughs). My teammates and I have planned places to go this week so I won’t have time to practice. Since I can rest comfortably, rather than physically practicing I’ll just mentally think about builds to prepare. I’m also thinking about seeing how other groups are doing and deciding on how much actual practice to do then. I want to play more easily than this in the Ro8 (laughs).
- Today everyone in TaekBangLeeSsang played. ▲ Earlier I said there were a lot of things I was thinking about. It was a pvp so that was on my mind along with other things. Among those other issues, the fact that everyone else in TaekBangLeeSsang played and won was at the peak of my worries. (laughs)
- When did you start feeling comfortable? ▲ After scouting my opponent’s build, I noticed that my expansion was faster so I felt more comfortable after that.
- Jaedong talked about the soccer incident in his post-match interview. ▲ About the food bet, the whole reason we played the game in the first place was for a OngameNet 10 year anniversary special. When the topic of betting came out, I thought about the fact that I helped Hwaseung practice last year for the grand finals so I was the first to call the bet off (laughs). Hearing Hwaseung ‘find their confidence’ because they’re the number one soccer progaming team is a bit surprising. The people who gained confidence is actually us. Because we believe Hwaseung is first in soccer, now all we have to do is find another team we can beat. Hwaseung lacked ggaemo and Coach Han Sang Yong so we felt reassured but they were really good. Hwaseung is a team that utilizes 2:1 passes along with good plays.
- You might play free in the WCG. ▲ I personally hope I’ll play Pure. It’s hard to prepare against free because I’m so close to him and we know each other so well. To be honest, for this WCG I’m just emptying my mind. Since I’m not too confident in my pvp, if I qualify this time, I’m seriously going to think it’s a miracle (laughs). It’s not going to be easy.
- Aren’t you ahead in head-to-heads against free? ▲ These are results that happened a long time ago when I was doing well. Back then I thought of it really lightly, but that’s not true anymore. free has grown a lot as a player. He’s not someone to take lightly. He’s a formidable opponent.
- We heard it’s your birthday today. ▲ It is my birthday today. Living as a progamer, I didn’t attach too much value to my birthday. However, as soon as it struck midnight, my teammates wished me happy birthday and my fans sent ricecake. I was so thankful. At today’s match, I also heard a vuvuzela (laughs). At the team house, as soon it was midnight, my teammates turned off all the lights. I thought someone accidentally turned off the lights by mistake but when the lights turned back on my teammates presented me with a cake. I was so touched.
- Last words you want to say? ▲ I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be talking about this in a post-match interview, but recently after reading some comments on a fomos picture, my girlfriend grew really upset. Yesterday the subject of my parents also came up so I was really angry. Because I'm broadcasted on tv, I’m used to things like this to a certain extent. However, this isn’t true for the people around me. I hope that in the future they keep the subject limited to me.
T/N: I looked for the photo comments:
Reason for the drama:
Crazyfangirl: Stork you're so awesome you're seriously the best Stork you're so goodlooking will you break up with your girlfriend I promise I'll be so much better to you I know I can. Will you seriously think about it please~ T______T" it was along those lines....
Netizen 2: "Wtf is wrong with you please keep the love to players at the player level ~ how well do you know Stork to be judging him as a guy~"
Netizen 3: "What's so wrong about what she said, she was just expressing her love for the player. And if I were a girl I think Stork as a guy is pretty attractive. Honestly I really want to introduce Stork to someone a lot nicer and better than his current girlfriend, seriously"
and it goes on - on another picture, same crazy fangirl basically repeated the above fangirl comment and adds on
Crazyfangirl: "can't you please break up with her, it seems like you're just dating her because you have no other choice. It also seems like she plays around with a lot of guys. Stork please break up with a girl like that~ As your fan I looked through her site as well as twitter and it seems her guy relations are really complicated. Please look into it~ I seriously feel bad for you. Netizen 4: "Woah we have a psycho here"
Crazyfangirl: reiterates same facts except adds on that Stork's gf seems like she drinks alcohol a lot and plays around with 'any' guy, then goes on to say again, Stork stop being stupid, break up with her
Tomorrow I’m playing fOrGG hyung in the MSL but I hope people can leave that match out of my ‘no-losses-before-finals’ promise (laughs). It’s a match that doesn’t affect me even if I lose.

Pretty much confirms the Fantasy trash talk was mostly to hype stuff up.

ROFL, play Khan to increase your team's self-confidence in soccer! Khan has been losing its midnight snack money left and right due to massive soccer losing streak, no wonder that there was no bet involved!
Saving the best for last! Can't wait for Stork's interview!
Imagine how hilarious it would be if Stork bitches how his team sucks at soccer in the Last Words section.

Haha, notice a pattern here? 1st winner Bisu=shortest and most generic; 2nd winner Flash=longer and more personal stuff; 3rd winner Jaedong = longest yet and the most interesting; 4th winner Stork = likely epic rants full of bitching and balling.
The only logical explanation to Jaedong's comment is that he is confident in his rematch series against Sea in the MSL. Hence, he hopes Sea would be able to move onto RO8 in OSL at least so Jaedong wouldn't have to feel bad.

Good point about the MSL: that's probably what Jaedong means about "having a rematch with him anyway", but I'm not sure the second part of your comment is right. Jaedong has plenty of reason to want Sea to go 3-0: that gives him a little extra insurance. If Sea beats Hydra, then even if Jaedong loses his next game, he will still go to a tiebreaker and on the other hand, if Sea loses to Hydra, then even if Jaedong wins his next game, he has to go to a tiebreaker.
So I think Jaedong means this: had this been his only chance to get back at Sea, the desire for vengeance would trump all other considerations and he would be rooting for Sea to lose so he could beat him in a tiebreaker, but since he will get his chance for vengeance in the MSL anyway, he is rooting for Sea to win, so that he only needs to win one game to advance.
This interview has reaffirmed my belief that Stork is a veteran of the game. He's been a top player for 5 years and now he's just chill as fuck.

Jaedong just hates losing, which is why he wants a rematch. I remember in another interview a while ago they're like "anything you're hoping for in the OSL?" and he's like "I've been losing to terran recently so I want to play a terran". Mindset of a champion
Ah these interviews put a fanboy smile on my face. Thanks for the translations, the fangirlism surrounding stork is quite interesting. :D (stork is a beast)

After reading the original Korean interview, in pretty sure jaedong meant to say even if he is to LOSE, he would still get a chance to advance having rematch within the group (with hydra and pure). Im pretty confident either fomos didn't get it right or jaedong said it wrong.
Edit: sorry about the messiness.. Was doing this on my iPhone

With my remaining time I’ll prepare really hard and attain 2 wins so I hope Sea can also get 3 wins so we can advance together.
meaning his game with Sea tomorrow. I think. =x Someone else confirm? Ugh T_T
BTW I'm doing Stork but it just happens to be the longest (kasjf;kdfj) so please be patient~
.
Nah Fomos just wasn't clear. Daily e-Sports goes like this.
Q 남은 상대가 프로토스 박세정이다. A 우선 염보성 선수가 3승을 해줬으면 좋겠다. 내가 이긴 뒤 만약 염보성 선수가 패하면 재경기를 해야 한다.
"First of all, I hope Sea wins three times. Because If I win and Sea loses, there will be a rematch [T/N: For placement, since they'll both be 2-1]"
So yeah Smix's translation is quite correct, blame Fomos for omitting that detail for some reason and only "hinting' at it, because it does lead to a rematch situation for better seeds i think out of the group placement

No there wouldn't. If they're both 2-1, Sea will advance as C1 and Jaedong as C2 because Sea won the head-to-head.

there u go. Milkis' translation of Jaedong from E-sports daily makes perfect sense now. At any rate, go jaedong and sea!!
Awesome translation smix =D Oh wow TAEKBANGLEESSANG ALL QUALIFIED? This is going to be the best osl ever!
And lol, everybody was uneasy about winning except Flash. Also the more I see of Stork's interviews the more I like him. Honestly, it would be so cool to hang out with him.

not exactly, only stork has made it into the ro8 for certain.
Poor Stork, he's always suffering from crazy netizens (before it was the Kwanro incident and now it's a crazy fangirl), hope he can stay focused on his game and WIN THIS OSL YEAH
... and if he ever decides to turn gay, I'll be ready for him. LOLOL
Also, Hwaseung did have a use for ggaemo! Oh the potential new material for Atrioc.
Hwaseung Coach: "Ggaemo win some soccer games for us!" Ggaemo: "What about starcraft?" Hwaseung Coach: "No. Practice soccer. We must retain our #1 Soccer team status" *Jaedong glare*

Stork, please practice just a little bit harder, OK? I'd be heart broken if you become the first to drop out of the OSL. I know that One Piece, girlfriends and vacation are pretty important, but Starcraft needs you!
Stork's GF is pretty hot. I think the crazyfangirl should post a pic of herself first before the trash talking. At least we'll know it IS a girl.
LeeSsangTaekBang semi-final, OK OK? The Korean Air executives will toast to that.

thats actually a really bad picture, there are better ones and if i'm able to find it i'll link it here later
Yea, thats actually a pretty bad picture of his gf, theres much better ones I've saw. And stork's picture is the only one shining in the taekbangleessang picture, must mean something =D.
lol his girlfriend just likes to party and progamers are locked in a nerd house for days so they can't hang out often, doesn't seem like problems crazy fan girls
Funny enough, Stork is the only guy in the pro-gaming scene who openly admits that he thinks he will lose the next game and then laugh about it.
Even scrubs without any real skill to back up their words would say they are completely confident against xxx, in order to convince themselves or sound good.
Oh, Stork is so awesome.
On the side note, I noticed that Jaedong's interview skill is getting better recently.

I believe in Bisu's case, if he loses and Action loses to Leta, then him/Effort/Action would be plunged into a tiebreaker. So not necesssarily for Bisu, but for Effort, yes.
