Flash kept his counter-BM to a minimum, though, so it's all good. It was actually pretty cool watching him take the entire map and trade mech units 1-for-1 with zerglings and still come out ahead.

I mean, when you've got carriers owning the terran's natural and recall owning their main, and they have no other bases and no units and STILL aren't giving up, what else is the protoss supposed to do? Flash kept his counter-BM to a minimum, though, so it's all good. It was actually pretty cool watching him take the entire map and trade mech units 1-for-1 with zerglings and still come out ahead. Make more carriers? I think that's what is expected.

But of course free couldn't know...

Flash had a full command group and a half of tanks knocking in front of the dual bridges, with rines and vults to take enough fire to completely obliterate all the goons without any tank losses. had he tried to attack that army anywhere there, it will be total slaughter for him. He really didnt have a choice and had to counter, or risk getting all his units trapped in his base by flashes timing attack. its just that his 12 goons got completely obliterated by 1tank and 7 vultures in flash's base. He lose the micro war, hence the game.

You mean like Flash was very beatable 1 time out of 11 in Winners League, none of those 1 times involving the late game? He couldn't have prepared for all of those. Flash has only lost one macro game to a protoss this year (Movie's carrier switch on EOTS in the OSL finals), and he has played a bazillion of those games, in between all the games he ended quickly with his timing pushes from hell (which his opponents couldn't defend even when they knew what was coming, by the way). Flash isn't a player who you just beat by being more prepared. His in-game adaptability and grasp of the game fundamentals is too good for that. 9 times out of 10, Flash gets a *stronger* position as the game goes on, even if the other player starts with an advantage.

And even if he did, there was no way Free was going to break the push. His forces were totally overmatched at that point. It was a completely dominating performance.
