(T)MVP, "My body is so exhausted"
"After winning the first set, I've gained confidence"

- Your feelings on winning a long drawn out match?
▲ Ah… (laughs). During practice, this type of long match never occurred but strangely enough our game ended up with resources being divided in half. I’m still so tired from it.

- Why aren’t you saying anything and just laughing.
▲ I feel like too much time passed so I feel sorry (laughs).

- What did you think of today’s game?
▲ My hands usually warm up pretty quickly but strangely today it took a while until they loosened up so the early game was hard. But because I warmed up towards the latter part of the game, I was able to win.

- You prepared battlecruisers at a pretty early timing.
▲ I prepared battlecruisers because I believe in a drawn out half/half fight the player who makes battlecruisers first is at an advantage. But I did prepare them a bit too early so I was in some danger. I should have secured my position more before making them, but I was just consumed with the thought of making them first that my opponent found a hole at one point.

- When did you feel you had won?
▲ When my tanks settled in at 6 o clock, I felt that I would at least achieve a draw.

- In your opponent’s base, you lost 5 tanks to mines.
▲ I was seriously surprised. Maybe it was for that reason, but I think I was able to do well when (T)BaBy entered 7 o clock. If he hadn’t gone in, because I was lacking scan it would have been difficult for me so it was a relief.

- When the mines exploded, what did you think in that moment?
▲ Fuck, I’m screwed (T/N: he didn’t actually curse but this is an equivalent in terms of meaning ). This wasn’t supposed to happen (laughs).

- We heard it’s your first time in such a long drawn out match – how was it?
▲ My body is so exhausted. But still, I think once I get back to my team house and lay down on my bed, I’ll be able to think about the things I learned from today’s game.

- Recently (T)BaBy’s been doing really well.
▲ His momentum lately has been very good and he’s hardly been losing. So I tried to come up with a build accordingly, but because our build in the beginning was the same, I was caught off guard.

- You were able to take down 3 of the dragons as well as (T)BaBy – do you believe you’re on a roll now?
▲ I don’t know about that, but I think my broadcasted games are finally playing out like my games in practice. In the past, even I would be humiliated about the lack of skill in my games, but nowadays it doesn’t seem to be that way so I feel proud.

- The remaining games are scheduled for next week.
▲ Because I won the first set, I think I can prepare with a more comfortable mindset for sets 2 and 3. I gained confidence today.

- Last words you want to say?
▲ I’m thankful to my terran on my team who helped me practice, and today my friend Joo HyungBin came to watch so I’m very thankful. Today I played a long drawn out match, so I’m thankful to the fans who had to cheer for a long time.
Also, I go to the gym a lot, and a hyung there I don’t know the name of always tells me to do well. Originally, he asked me to mention him in the interview when I got into the round of 16 but I was so happy I blanked out. Though it’s a bit late, I want to let him know that I’m very thankful (laughs).

(Z)Calm, "Things worked out the way I planned"
"I believe I was able to win with the confidence I earned from yesterday's win"

- Your feelings on winning your first set in the Ro16.
▲ I’m happy because my game played out the way I had hoped, and because I still haven’t definitely advanced yet, I want to make sure I win at least one of my next two matches next week so I can get to the Ro8.

- You’ve beaten (T)fantasy two days in a row now.
▲ I think my win yesterday gave me confidence that helped me win today’s game.

- Your play seemed a bit scattered.
▲ Today I just played however way I wanted. Instead of playing standard I went from acting like I was all-in to not, to acting like I was going lurker to not – I kept playing mind-games.

- There was a moment you were in danger after losing 5 o clock.
▲ I did see that happening on my map. I was going to produce units to defend but I purposely canceled my lurker upgrade and ended up not producing units. Though the game did get a bit twisted there because I had a lot of gas I was okay.

- So are you saying you think your mindgames worked out?
▲ I think they worked. Things actually could have played out better than they did so I’m a bit disappointed.

- You and (T)fantasy are continually holding each other as rivals.
▲ I feel like I’ve played him so many times. With my recent wins, I’ve been able to pull ahead in head-to-heads, but now I don’t even want to pull ahead in wins – I want to hold onto this rivalry.

- You’re extremely busy nowadays.
▲ I believe if I work hard I can definitely advance in both leagues, so therefore I will have to put in a lot of effort. To be honest, I had only been preparing for proleague. Today I was able to win because my play just worked out the way I planned.

- Last words you want to say?
▲ Nope.

(T)HiyA, "I don't think I should be celebrating yet"
"Today I came with the certainty that my game would play out well"

- Your feelings on winning the first set of the Ro16.
▲ Though I’m happy that the first set played out better than I had thought, because there are still games to be played I don’t think I should be celebrating just yet.

- You lost to (P)Shuttle often in individual leagues.
▲ I never really thought about revenge or anything like that. As I was preparing for this match I lost to a lot of protoss. However as I was coming to the stadium today I felt like the match would play out well, and I was sure that I would be able to grab the timing from the beginning.

- You blocked your opponents reavers very well today.
▲ (P)Shuttle usually isn’t that type so I was a bit surprised, but today for some reason my scv’s listened to me very well (laughs).

- If you were to evaluate your performance as of late.
▲ As of now I’d say my streak has been a bit ambiguous. I don’t think today’s game will affect it very much because the game won’t mean anything unless I advance to the Ro8. They say the first set is important but I can’t lose focus here. Also, new maps await me so I will have to practice very hard so achieve my goal of gaining a seed in this league.

- If you were to personally point out a difference between the proleague and individual league?
▲ The individual league is nice because you get to propel your own name out there, and with the proleague you always have to put your team first. Though most players probably prefer the individual leagues, I still think the proleague is really important and work harder for it.

- Though this is a bit late, there was a lot of talk about you wearing female clothes.
▲ I’m not shy to do things like that for my fans. Though most players get very shy, because it’s something that entertains the fans, I just think it’s funny (laughs).

+ Show Spoiler [hwaseung female progamers] +
[image loading]

- Last words you want to say?
▲ Lately our team’s results haven’t been so good, so I hope (Z)Jaedong and I can take the momentum we gain through our individual league wins and use it to propel our team’s momentum as well.

source: fomos

(Z)Jaedong, "I feel a lot more comfortable now"
"Lately I've been playing well at the MoonRae Stadium"

- Your feelings on winning the first set of the Ro16.
▲ I always thought the first set of a BoX match is important, and because I was able to win, I feel much more comfortable now. I prepared a lot for this match so I was very confident going in. Because I was able to win on top of the effort I put in, I feel even happier.

- You are showing strength in your zvz again.
▲ I lost a bit of my status after making a few errors in my broadcasted matches I normally don’t make in practice, but after working on those specific errors I believe I was able to get better. Normally when I practice, my zvz stats are very high so even with broadcasted matches I hold the mindset that I won’t lose. If I can just lower the number of mistakes I make, I believe I will be able to show a higher winrate in my broadcasted matches as well.

- Your proleague wins probably helped as well.
▲ Because of that, I was able to find my confidence again. Also, strangely whenever I come to the MoonRaeDong stadium I feel like I play very well. Because of this I feel like I’ll win next week too (laughs).

- Do you think there’s a particular reason you play well in MoonRae Stadium?
▲ Up until now, there hasn’t really been a time I attributed something to my environment, but recently just with the way luck played out I’ve been losing at YongSan stadium and winning at MoonRae and with these events recurring, I couldn’t help but notice the pattern. For some strange reason I feel at peace here so my games play out well. I feel like if I just win one game at YongSan, I’ll be able to find my confidence again. Next time, by winning at YongSan as well, I’ll make sure that I can win in both stadiums.

- Recently you’ve probably gained more time to focus on the proleague.
▲ Because of that I’m happy (laughs). In terms of individual leagues, I only have to focus on the MSL so this is more ideal for practice, and because I can practice as much as I want to for proleague as well, I’m also happy. Not having more in my schedule is something I’m looking at in a more positive light.

- How do you feel about this season?
▲ Lately when I play, I haven’t been able to have good mind control so I think that’s why I’ve been a bit shaky. Nowadays I’ve been working hard on my mind control to get my old feeling back, and because of that things are getting better and there are many games left so if I can just get to the Ro8, I am confident I can win the whole thing.

- Last words you want to say?
▲ Before I came to the stadium, fans sent fruit to our team house - it wasn’t exactly clementines but I ate something like clementines and it was really good (laughs). It’s about the same size as an orange, but the peel is thinner and it was so good that I kept eating it before I came. Because of it, I gained a bigger desire to win and I just want to tell them I ate it very happily. Ah, because of the reporter I was able to find out the name of the fruit and it is called “ChunHaeYang” (laughs).
Also, next Thursday I have my next set, and because (T)HiyA also won today I’m glad we can both go home happy today. Because it’s been such a long time since I reached a higher level in an individual league with a teammate, I hope that we can play the games we have left well and both advance far into the tournament.

Baby was trapped and MVP was picking off his buildings one by one, so he would have lost even if he didn't try and get out of the contain.

MVP's builds in his games have been unique and have yielded good results.
His fast triple vs Best and his fast BCS vs Baby were very smart and crafty.
I look forward to seeing the next few, despite how shitty the ending of this TvT is, you can't really blame either player for not wanting to lose lolol...

Uhhh, I don't get your reasoning? Baby played like the mouse running the fuck away from MVP every time MVP tried to engage towards the end.

Not to mention the toddler just patrolled his units in the middle of the map, lolly gagging around and not attacking.

Great interviews , MVP is showing some nice play recently, and Calm - Fantasy rivalry would be nice simply because both players are more precise strategy than mechanics(and the PL matches). JD's playing as he should and Hiya? Well, he's needed to make a ro16 for a long time imo. Thanks for the interviews!

I disagree. If you want to call baby on not engaging, both players are guilty of it. MVP lined up his tanks, and hid his BCs right above them, he was afraid of engaging as well (because whoever unsieges and a moves into a wall of tanks loses). Kudos to baby for just ending it, though why he didnt get 1 wraith + cloak I don't know (when he was still mining 12 and MVP was on 6).
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

Kudos to baby for just ending it, though why he didnt get 1 wraith + cloak I don't know (when he was still mining 12 and MVP was on 6).

fatigue i guess. it was a long ass game .
neither baby nor mvp had it in them to go longer i assume
baby just cracked first

Uhhh, I don't get your reasoning? Baby played like the mouse running the fuck away from MVP every time MVP tried to engage towards the end.

I don't see either of them as having cracked. They really weren't doing much at that point in the game. Since a draw wasn't called, I think baby just decided "fuck it, its a bo3, ill take the other ones, this is retarded".
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

Stop blaming the players for running back and forth for an hour, it's just the race they play.

Defensive positions are just so much more powerful than attacking.

lol tvt. I mean, yeah, when you have fucking units that have infinite range when you're defending, why the fuck would you attack, or attack into it lol?

- Though this is a bit late, there was a lot of talk about you wearing female clothes.

" if I can just get to the Ro8, I am confident I can win the whole thing. " - JD

I feel this is really telling, sometimes a bad player, or a newbie can get into a ro32 maybe, but when it comes down to it, jaedong is an amazing pro gamer, and the difference is that once you get into the long preparation periods, the fact that he is a better gamer makes him win. He is just better than that other guy who happened to make it to the ro32.
