The replays will be cast with commentary on PsyonicReaver's JustinTV account, http://www.justin.tv/psyonic
PsyonicReaver on JustinTVWhen to watchThere will be two casts, one on Saturday and one on Sunday to cover all of the five Best-of-3 games. The time will be 3PM Mountain Time OR 30minutes after the TSL cast. First broadcast (Pt. I)
3PM MST, Saturday 30th January 9AM AEDT, Sunday 31st January 11PM CET, Saturday 30th January 7AM KST, Sunday 31st January 2PM PST, Saturday 30th January 5PM EST, Saturday 30th January NOTE: If the TSL cast runs past the allocated time for the showmatch, the showmatch will air 30minutes after the end of the TSL.
Second broadcast (Pt. II)
3PM MST, Sunday 31st January 9AM AEDT, Monday 1st February 11PM CET, Sunday 31st January 7AM KST, Monday 1st February 2PM PST, Sunday 31st January 5PM EST, Sunday 31st January NOTE: If the TSL cast runs past the allocated time for the showmatch, the showmatch will air 30minutes after the end of the TSL.
Brent " PsyonicReaver" Schultz is a well known commentator from the US, boasting over 200 videos on his youtube account and veteran of many foreign Brood War events such as the JustinTV Invitational. The now Phoenix-based 25-year-old will represent the EG team in the commentary team as a roommate and friend to many of the players. Imagist may be known for his Melbourne-based TL meetups, but is a relatively recent addition to the commentary scene during the Saturday games. While lacking experience in live casting he should bring a unique view being an Australia-based Canadian observing this match and hopefully he will secure a position in future events to come. iCCup.Raelcun will be the co-host for the Sunday games (Legionnaire/Nyoken and fadetowhite/iNkA). His stream has just been validated and he entered in the TSL commentary contest so check him out when you can! You can also catch his work later that day in the TL Arena.

Full strength squad would see most of the players around B+ ranking, and as low as B- so the games should be entertaining enough.
The match is kind of a 'prize' for those teams reaching the finals in the State competition.

Not sure, there are about 3 players in Aus at a high level.
Leg, of course ~B+/A- fadetowhite (aka FruGGa) ~B+/A- NrG.GoD- (Korean living in Aus long-term) ~B+
During the TSL ladder fadetowhite and Leg played a BO3 and fadetowhite won 2-1 so I dunno who's the best.
|
This should be cool. I guess if you do some hype and have a cast for just about anything it gets cooler. It's fun seeing this come together too.
Seeing as it's 3 MST I shouldn't have a problem tuning in.

Unfortunately I think he is taking SC more casually now after failing to qualify for the TSL in order to concentrate on his studies. That's what he says on MSN - whether he can keep away from it or not remains to be seen

Legionnaire and fadetowhite have confirmed that they can play.
No word from KarnivooL I think he may be moving house at the moment.
NrG.GoD- is next in line for a place, but backup players Z.Kw and SenSei are on standby in case he is still on holidays.

fadetowhite got quite high in the TSL ladder so he's no pushover, and yeah Vaul seemed keen to give it a go but I feel bad for waking him early on his day off

The lineups are almost complete - LzGaMeR and NrG.GoD- confirmed, just waiting to talk to Nyoken and either replace KarnivooL with The_Australian or see if KarnivooL will have internet in time.

On January 21 2010 07:22 {88}iNcontroL wrote:NrG.GoD- PM me here or something.. I want to play soon
I don't think he uses TL much but he should be on this weekend and I can let you know on MSN Otherwise feel free to just catch him online if you see him.
|
wow. O_O Aussie's EG will win
|
Lineups are finalised, note to the players:
I will help you organise a time with your opponent convenient for both of you, so hopefully I don't come across as bossy when I keep asking if you're there or not
Send me the reps ASAP, and I'd appreciate if you don't tell anyone the results just so the broadcast with Brent is as exciting as possible.
KarnivooL can't play until maybe Wednesday next week because he is moving house.
NrG.GoD- is on vacation but can still play this weekend most likely.
For the rest I will just find out when both of you are free, or let you know when they are online.
I can try obs if I am around but if there is lag then you can just play by yourselves. If there's a disconnection just replay the game.
Cheers.

But the Plott Bros. will be doing TSL won't they?
BTW I only now noticed that the TSL broadcast 3hrs before this is actually BO5 (not BO3 as I assumed) so we might have to delay this broadcast by an hour or so, just to make sure there are no conflicts.

Wonders on TL, not that many know him I guess and it's a shame cos he is a really smart player - very formidable I am sure top foreign opponents will tell you.
|
I can play if someone no shows, I'm just eligible .
Gogogooo aussies :D
|
NOTE:
The TSL broadcast time was announced and it starts 3 hours before this one, and seeing it is two BO5 matches it might run into this time THEREFORE the casting time for this event will be 3PM MST / 2PM PST / 5PM EST / 23:00 CET OR 30 minutes after the end of the TSL cast, whichever is later
So if you are watching the TSL cast you have time to grab a snack afterwards if you wanted to watch this, and if you are not watching TSL then you can turn up at the normal time and check if the TSL is still going. I will keep the thread updated if possible.

aus to win 3-2
god and sensei to lose
incontrol with too much pride at stake to lose.
leg would lose to a macro/standard player maybe, but i hear nyoken is old school. leg doesn't lose to old school. lets not forget he schooled the best of the best in the past.
factotum will beat lz by a close margin. i only judge this by the fact that factotum can take games off frugga and i've seen lz's stream.
i still have doubt in sensei's skill but i am still rooting for ya mate !
frugga would own any eg team member hands down.
my predictions own

I WAS going to leave Imagist but then Del was like. TSL games are over! So.... =(
|
Imagist, I really enjoyed your commentary, I think that you exceeded Mr. Reaver, not that he did a poor job, not at all. I think you two worked great together, and the two first games where really exciting.
The event has been really fun to watch and I'm looking forward to tomorrows games.
|
Just wanted to bump this thread because I don't think this event got the attention it deserved, I actually enjoyed this event more then the slightly lacklustre TSL weekend (koll vs fenix excluded, great series). Not top quality games, but very exciting non the less. So keep an eye out for the VODs!
Thanks to the organisers and the commentators for a job well done.
|
who keeps editing the "results" spoiler in the op...
it's gone from 1-0 to 2-1 to1-0 to 0-0 like 50 times. quit that shit, lol
|
I was surprised by the results, but I'm glad at the implication - it's not that eG sucks (they don't), but that Australia fields very competitive players at this level. I know that I'll be following them a bit more carefully in the future, and not just because I happen to be in Australia.
I wasn't able to cast this morning, but I did tune in for some of it. I enjoyed listening to Raelcun too once his volume levels got sorted out. He's a knowledgeable guy with a good voice for it, and his willingness to bust out a horrendous pun is another plus.
I have to give some serious props to Brent for our joint performance on Day 1. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he's a friendly guy with a good attitude that is easy to get along with. Because of that, the commentary and the banter never felt forced and I felt better about it than a lot of the commentaries I've done in the past. I'd totally buy him a beer sometime.
I also have to recommend that people watch the VODs when they exist. There were some really exciting moments, builds and comebacks in this series that any Starcraft fan should appreciate.

Also just like to mention those hating on Team Evil Geniuses that first of all the event would not have been possible without them, they were very co-operative and friendly - even after defeat. Also this Aus team is no pushover it would give almost any other national team a run for it's money.
Big thanks to EG - Check out the VODs
