Ok so I have never seen an Asian basketball player on a Division I College team until I read that Harvard upset Boston College (17 in nation). So three days ago, BC defeated UNC (which was 1st in nation before loss) A huge upset right?

Well Harvard plays BC and the game player is a guy named Jeremy Lin, he scored 27 points. What a baller. Goes to harvard, probably a smart kid and still manages to be good at basketball. His stats just keep going up, he's averaging about 18 ppg, 5 rpg and 5 apg. You can say that the Ivy League Conference isn't that good but beating a ranked team is always good and this was a huge upset. WOOT WOOT represent!!

Don't post an all caps thread title unless situation calls for it [ this is not one of those times ]

Don't say something like ' probably a smart kid and still manages to be good at basketball ' Yes lets stereotype the asian dude.

The whole azn thing got old in the 90's and should stay there. Saying ' WOOT WOOT represent!! ' cuz you are both asian is stupid.

It could have been improved by generating discussion about something like why do you think asians are rarely found in competitive league/college ball. The inevitable flamefest resulting from that probably would've reflected better on you as a poster and a thread starter anyway.

Blogs != immunity.

...I don't understand what the hell Ack1027 is trying to say. But just so you know, stereotypes are not 100% correct, of course. But generally they do show a trend, I mean they aren't there for no reason. Now not supporting the stereotype, but if you haven't noticed there aren't many Asian athletes in higher tier competitions(NBA, Div 1 College).
Also, you don't decide what belongs in caps and what doesn't. Obviously this interested him so he put it in caps, so go suck on a lemon son.

I don't know if he's a smart kid or not but isn't getting into harvard already pretty good?

Here's an image of him from google

You're right, asians are pretty rare (especially good ones). All of the ones that exist in the NBA are imported from china xP.

Well, considering you're asian as well (nice blogs about korea btw), I'm sure you would know why there aren't alot of asians playing in sports in America, particuarly in basketball and the collegiate level.

First of all, Asian people are not very tall and that's an important attribute in basketball, and also not very athletic. Of course, this guy's pretty special, I saw him dunking and he's 6-2, taller than most Asians. And another reason why is because of culture, asian parents want their kids to be really smart, go to top schools and sports is kinda in the back of their priorities. Of course this kid got to do all of those, which is fortunate for him.

Basically I made a blog about him because 1)I love basketball 2) Harvard defeating an ACC team (especially a ranked team) is big, and 3) the player of the game was Asian and it surprised to see this

Oh and sorry for the use of baller, there was a blog about that word somewhere.

He dunks on 3 (black) people, he's a beast.

There, happy?

And what do you mean putting in caps was appropiate, it's a blog. So when is putting all caps appropiate?

It's a very legitimate question... and the stick figure is excellent, I had a chuckle at it

I'm suspecting that you are just flaming for the hell of it.

Here's my contribution:

Great for him, yea it's really rare to have people with Asian descents on a basketball team.

edit:

And evan agrees with me, sup evan

...he goes to Harvard.

he could've been recruited just to play for their basketball team
his grades and scores will have to be at least decent though

The use of baller in this sense is actually accurate to the original etymologies of the word. Man I made no sense just now. I didn't think this would actually be about an asian basketball player hahah. Also beating UNC? sickkkk

I wasn't trying to flame.
It's like a mod posts forum improvement threads and then stuff like this pops up not too soon after. I mean really ask yourself, was it really that relevant to say woot woot represent and ASIAN BALLER in all caps. I don't know, sorry if I came off as grumpy its just lately I see a lot of mistakes in posts that could be fixed with a little effort. If we're gonna clean up we gotta start with little things.

Anyway someone fixed the title I guess and apparently I'm the odd one here saying what I said.
