EPTI want to start a little series, where I want to introduce to you some metal bands, that give away their music for free!
The first band (better: musician) I want to tell you about is from Estonia. Before I start, I wanted to thank Mikami_ for a little help with the translation of some Estonian text! Kennigit wasn't happy about that, but who cares
Ok, enough smalltalk.
I want to talk about the Estonian musician Sven Varkel. He was a metal fan from the beginning and 1991 - at the age of 15(!) - he already started his first metal band called "Heavy Angels". I hope, you can guess what subgenre he is playing
After that Sven "toured" through a few Estonian metal bands, currently (since 2009) he is singing and playing the guitar for Herald.
But I wanted to show you some free music and for that, we have to get back to the year 2007. Back there Sven released an album called "Ära valeta!" (Don't Lie!). It's kind of a solo-project. And the interesting part about it is: It's not available to buy anywhere!
You can stream it completely on his MySpace-site or download it at his homepage. Here you have the choice between three different qualities:
1. Quite standard 320kbit MP3s (~110MB)
2. Lossless Flac (~350MB)
3. and even as a bin/cue CD-Image (~700MB)
So whatever quality you like, you will get it!
An interesting thing about this album is also that Sven wanted to write a manifest for free music because of it. ... but it stays "wanted"; seems he only got as far as a little preview, but the important part is already there:

Well I hope you will help him to spread the word (and the music)! But I have to warn you: I don't know if it has to do something with all that but the homepage of Varkel is "offline" quite often. So be patient and happy downloading!
