After using free unlimited 56k internet for 2 years, I finally got high speed dsl. Everything is so fast now, wow. I used to have dsl a few years ago, but then I switched to 56k. Now, I am back.

What should I do/download/stream/etc. with my newfound speed? Don't recommend vulgar stuff. GOGO!

Why did you switch back to 56k out of curiosity? What speeds are you getting? You have no bandwidth limits right?

Youtube with 56k seems like a nightmare.

I can't even begin to think about the internet before high speed broadband. It was awful. I remember waiting like 30 minutes for a song to download and was like OH HELL YES once I got that one song. lol actually the internet was kinda fun back in the day. it was ....simpler. and littered with horrible looking geocities pages.

I remember raging and interrogating everyone if they picked up the telephone whenever I got disconnected. And I remember waiting like 2 minutes for a pornographic jpeg image to finish downloading.

Man those were the days.

LOL exactly what I was thinking! Ah...the old days...I don't miss it though! DSL all the way!

i've had cable for 3 years, now i'm on dsl and it's so slow. the speed is so much better on cable, and in this city, it's the same price for cable and dsl. girls are dumb, don't live with girls if you like fast internet o.o

It depends where you live I think. I had cable for a few years and we switched to dsl and it is better 20Mbit down and 5 up (can increase to 20 up for 5/month more)

i believe the speed of dsl depends on how close you are to the tower, or some such. and it's a direct connection to the internet, unlike cable. i've heard you share cable internet with everyone on your block, or building. so if you live in a place with lots of buildings you get a slower connection with cable, but if you've got cable with few people near you with it, it'll be a lot faster and reliable. ramble ramble

You know, I applaud you for being on 56k for so long. I don't know how I'd survive these days without broadband internet access. 56k loads sooooo slow, I don't know how you survived that long with such slow speeds.
