But if you read the entire post it's pretty clear what I was getting at. I was referring to the sports/luxury, sports only ('pure'), luxury only class distinction for car shopping purposes. This is a thread about car shopping knowledge not car knowledge.

Posting a list of top speeds, horsepowers, 0-60s etc is utterly useless here. The dude has a budget and I posted based on that. I'd be happy to talk about the Corvettes, the Vipers or even the Bugattis, Koeniseggs, or the Mclarens if you wanna talk dream cars with dream specs, but this is the wrong thread to do that.

And the GTI is an awesome bargain in the affordable sports only class.

And come on now, you can't deny American cars, even the powerful ones, are pretty damn fugly. I, as an American, readily admit this fact in humility.

The only pretty looking car I've seen past '90 was the Viper SRT. I could go with this, and most of the '69 power models. Those are gorgeous cars. But it seems that all the good american designers died somewhere in between.
