Why do religious christians shake? I mean like, they're just there worshipping and then suddenly they start to shake like crazy. Some of them might drop to the floor and start moving very awkwardly, as if they're having a seizure of some sort.
I was sitting there at the church and a christian man (he's a built-up personal trainer, but somewhat a little feminine) approached me and saw me sitting way back there. He slowly approached me, with his hands shaking, he was walking as if he had just been hit by a car or something, and said that it was better for me to be up there and stuff, not back here. I said no, and that I was alright. Well, I think I pissed him off, he started praying for me, shaking, and suddenly starts screaming real loud that I needed to be set free, and that the demons get out of my body and shit. I didn't know where to dig my face in the soil so I just sat there like nothing was going on. Then he started to demand me that I lift up my hands and that I speak in tongues telling me "repeat after me" I simply told him that I had to go film (I film at that church). He just put a face like I was the fucking devil himself and left back to the front laughing... and shaking like crazy.
I'm starting to think the people that shake at my church are into drugs of some sort, or maybe something else. I don't really know.
Not only that, some people that are in that mood as well go up to the pulpit and start saying "prophecies" and demanding people to do stuff. I've been going to that church for almost 5 years and I've never seen anything they say is going to happen, actually happen.
Don't get me wrong. The church itself is a marvelous place, it's just certain extremist individuals who want to take control of it that spoil it like that. I'm a christian myself and I will always be, but I don't agree with their 500% religious pieces of shit. To me, God is someone real, not just some fucking man-made religion.
Where in the bible does it say that we need to bow our heads and close our eyes to pray? Where does it say that EVERY FUCKING PRAYER has to be a demand from us to God about something? (that's all they do) As far as I know, Jesus didn't do praying campaigns to make something happen, he just spoke it and it was done. No rainbows, no little butterflys, no little bunnies, no fucking ornaments, HE JUST SAID IT AND IT WAS DONE. PERIOD.
I'm getting tired of these bunch of retards that are always wanting to control me and my family, with the most ridiculous shit I've ever heard in my life.

What kind of church is this?

I can actually relate to this. Personally, I am also a Christian, but some "Christians" seem to just destroy the entire image of it. One example would be those preachers in college campuses. They go around yelling "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!" How does that help anything? It is almost unChristian in itself, yet they do it because they are complete extremists, who I think don't even understand what they preach. There is nothing wrong with trying to share your religion, but the crazy extremists drive me crazy. In response to the people who only demand things from God, I agree with you as well. What I feel is that some people are being Christian, not for the religion, not for the ideas, but for the happy feeling that they get. They are Christian when they need some help, and want to leech from the Church, or society as a whole, but when everything is going well, then where are they to help other people? Christianity is not just a tool to make your life better, and that is what aggravates me about how some people abuse it. Just as a side note, I have no problem with people who don't follow this, but for the people who pretend to, that is just worse. It actually makes more sense to have people who actually are Atheists or Agnostics to actually identify themselves with what they really are, not to try and pass off as fake Christians. Then again, this is just a rant. Can't really hold this against them and then excommunicate them, because that, in itself, is hypocritical.

Can I ask you a serious question? Why do you identify yourself as Christian?
You already said yourself that quite a lot of the things the religion is built upon is bullshit. Do you believe that to believe in God you have to be a Christian or something?
This post confuses me.

Um.
I think he was messing with you. At least, I hope he was.

i saw this one guy shaking

I'm not a "christian" that's just a mundane term used by men to identify those who believe in what we believe in. I believe God is real and I try my best to follow what he said to us in the bible, and I'm real with it. There are no ornaments, games, made-up ideas, and things like that for me.
I just said I was a Christian to avoid confusion.
And I totally agree with you Archaic -.-

Self-induced hysteria. People believe that they're supposed to shake, speak in tongues, etc, believe that God's making them do it, and so they start to do random crazy shit.
|
you can youtube videos of people speaking in tongues and doing the shaking bullshit. Religion is garbage.

I'm attending a Christian school (Anglican I think? idk) and we have this prayers every morning and chapel service every friday fortnightly. I'm not Christian, but I think just praying quietly every morning is pretty nice. But when I see people doing like what the OP mentioned and being too extreme, they're just ruining the image of Christianity. Which is why some of the people around me have negative impressions on the religion, saying they are 1) too extreme or 2) too aggressive (as in, goes around pressuring people in the public to convert religion/join blah blah church/etc).

Yeah. People can worship however they want. I will leave them in piece but nothing gets me madder then when some retard comes up to me and says: "YOUR RELIGION IS FALSE AND YOU'RE GOING TO HELL! QUICK! COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE THE TRUE FEELINGS OF CHRIST!"
It's like. Dude. Shut the fuck up.
The sad thing is, my church has a few people who are exactly like that sometimes. My feelings now are, all Churches have fucking messed up people. Don't judge how one Church is based on how 1 person acts towards you. (Unless everybody in that Church acts the same way. Then you can judge accordingly.)

this is for only some christain churches, and ya i know what you mean, it is really weird shit

I used to look at it as people just really getting into it, which seemed harmless to me, and probably strengthened their faith I guess. However, the way you described it it seems like they have ulterior motives, or at the very least are sometimes kinda being a dick about it.
