But wow...a FELONY?? That's one of the most retarded things ever... On April 30 2009 05:46 vAltyR wrote: IMO, there should be a law against selling M-rated games to minors, but a felony charge is really ridiculous, especially if it's harsher than *alcohol.* It has been unlawful since the rating system came out. OP is just saying it got raised to a felony charge...which, like you said, is ridiculous.

http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=A02837 It doesn't specify the punishment, but it obviously does indicate that it is illegal to sell mature/ao games to minors. 4.) Sets forth a provision where a violation of the provisions of subdivision one, two or three of the bill shall be a violation as defined by the Penal Law. I'm not sure what they mean by 'as defined by the Penal Law' though. BTW it was dated 01/21/2009

What crack head decided selling a game to a minor means that person should be a felon. Selling alcohol to minors is less of an offense. This is bullshit. I haven't found any written proof, although micro found something about upping video game sales laws that went into effect January of this year. I'm in Maine, but GameStop has a policy where it is immediate termination if you sell a game to an M game to a minor because of the law in New York. The guys that worked there told us about it because I didn't have ID and we all agreed it was ridiculous. This is how I found out about it.
