Cant CONNECT wirelessly

I jsut got a brand new Acer Predator desktop computer, and according to the spec's it has wireless network capabilities, and yet it will not connect to my wireless network at home. The computer will not even recognize that there is a wireless network. The instruction manual said that it came with a wireless adapter thingy that you need to manualy attached in order for the wireless internet to work. I searched through the box and there was nothing, this lead me to beleive that there was already one installed in the computer.

I have never used Windows Vista before so the problems may be attributed to my inexperience, but I am fairly certain that I have no fucking idea what the hell I am doing.

I actually am starting to believe that it does NOT have a wireless card thingy in it although truthfully I have no clue. Please god (TL) help me figure this shit out, I have been dicking around with this for about 6 hours and feel like commiting suicide.

Seriously, Acer is a terrible brand of computer.

But if you're not going to opt to return it, you should check one more time. Typically a wireless adapter will have an antenna on it, so you need to check your tower and the box for anything that has one. If you're absolutely certain that there is no wireless adapter, just call up Acer tech. support and they'll probably send you one for free.

Also, make sure your router has wireless capabilities (will also have 1-3 antennas on it).

ummm.....it didn't come with an attena, and since the specs said it had wireless capabilities I just assumed it was already inside of the computer.

all computers have wireless capabilities... that doesnt necessarily mean it came with the hardware. If it didnt come with ur computer already.. you need to buy a wireless antenna usb

usb will lag horribly thats obv a gaming comp. Get a PCI wifi card for best results not pcie just PCI

I wonder if by "wireless capabilities" it just meant it has the PCI-E port or even just the usb port (in which case every computer could have "wireless capabilities" which is true) You can either get a usb adapter or a pci card.

A USB adapter doesn't require you to open up your computer (which may void your warranty if you care about that) because it just plugs into an available port. A PCI-E card you have to snap into the actual motherboard. I've used both and they both performed about the same quality for me. However, everything I hear says that PCI-E is the way to go so that's what I got for the computer I have now.
