yaaay i hit B-
i thought i'd never see the day, but with a pvp win to top it off (my worst mu by far), i've managed to break into the sexy blue ranks.
granted, i TRIED playing during korean times (morning in my case.. sort of hard), I did get beat 70-80% of the time. This makes me sort of a "false" B-, because i know that if i were to play during the korean hours, i'd be still C+, or maybe even a C.
nonetheless, im very happy.
my pvz is my best mu, and by faaaar gave me the most points. I used to lose to a simple 3 hatch muta because i didnt put down cannons or couldnt get the timing right. but i figured it out, and it has been a looot easier for me to deal with. the 5 hatch hydra + muta ht sniping has really made the mu harder, but i still managed to squeeze out wins because of a lucky dt every now and then.
my pvt has improved! finally. i partly figured out how to stop timing pushes, and my reaver harass has been getting better. although i still lose hopelessly to 200/200 hanbang, i think i'm losing mostly because i get greedy and expo without map control (ie no army!). so im definitely trying to stay on 3 base to terran's 3 base for awhile while teching to arbs, and then grabbing my 4th or 5th or something like that. anyway psi storm rocks! ^^
now my pvp. 2-3 seasons ago, iccup was so much easier. my pvp was at frigging 70% at C, and now look what happened - it's at 30-40% im guessing. I constantly go 2gate->robo for goon/reaver, but it never works. 4gate kills me. I have no idea how my opponent grabs an early nexus without even a reaver, then proceeds to rape my bum with 2 control groups of goons to my 12 goon + reaver. i think i'll actually start to dodge the mu haha. i cant play it for my life.
anyway it's been a long time coming! 2-3 seasons and i finally hit B-

I, myself am having some trouble with iCC this season as well. Last season seemed a lot easier. Still trying to reach C-. 2500 points, getting there though!

EDIT: I'm like fucking 40-55 . Kept getting knocked down to D for a couple weeks but I'm getting into mid-D+ now. So jealous :S

Mirror matchups are always hard...my ZvZ is horribad F------.
I can't even break out of D, and it's only been recently that I've managed to stay consistently there...I used to have to reset my stats every week so I wasn't perpetually D-...haha.

Congrats I wish I still had time to mass-game on iCCup but recently I have been just messing around in campaign due to time constraints and I am having trouble getting 1 level in before I need to call it quits.

yes but kwark gives it new weight, as opposed to the people who start playing at the end of the season, and then complain it's really hard when the next season starts.

Wow, nice, own me by leagues.
For me, my first season playing ICCUP, or 1v1 seriously for that matter, so sucking, although at least have gotten my apm to consistently over 200, but a bit to much redundancy, and my timings sucking, still keeping me at D/D+

Ladder is so much more difficult than it used to be. Back on pgt I was A+ and now I'm 50% at D rank.

Congrats! If you can move up into B- that represents a nice improvement in your skill. The seasons are getting harder and harder, and there has always been a pretty massive gap in skill between C+/B- players and B+/A- players. Getting over the B- hump is a huge confidence boost. Just don't get sloppy :D

I think there's a pretty big element of randomness. A lot of it is just who you play. There are enough players on the ladder at each rank for individuals to have vastly different experiences. It usually seems like each season there is a majority consensus on it being more difficult than the last, though.

Makes sense. I noticed that I've only had about 20% of games were vs Koreans, which is a pretty low percentage so I must be getting lucky with easier players maybe.

Also kinda cool to be in the same channels as A+ and olympic players (which must be pro players!) :o)

Just one korean from C to almost B rank is extremely lucky though, still I agree that this season seems a bit easier right now than earlier seasons. Until like 2 weeks ago I would have thought the opposite though, suddenly the skill level just decreased massively and I jumped up 1 and a half rank.

I think the previous season was easier unless im getting really lucky on my oppoenents.
I've just reached c- for the second time, and I've played a lot less this season than the last one.

haha no. i stopped for a week or two, but after, sc just reeled me back in. it's like that quote: "you can let go of sc, but sc will never let you go"

Or maybe you just got better!?!!?! It most definitely has a higher skill level, mostly just from the amount of koreans. If you're dodging them then of course you won't notice a difference
