So this thing happened to me back in 7th grade, I just remembered it now because one of my friends brought up the pokemon subject. Anyhow here is how this story goes, and keep in mind this is all real and im not making this shit up:
Summer after 7th grade, I just bought a new GBA game : Pokemon Emerald. I go home, charge the batteries, and then but the cartridge in and woohoo im in pokemon land! I played 6-12 hrs a day for 2 days, I was too addicted that the only break I had was for lunch or dinner. However, on the morning of the third day something weird happened, I started hearing pokemon music in the background....
At first, I thought it was just something because I was playing so much. However, it kept going on everytime I am not hearing anything such as around the time I go to bed. I couldn't sleep or concentrate on anything well for the next 2 days. Then I thought, this cartridge must be satanic and since I named the character in the game after myself, it is doing some weird shit to my head. SO I go on and delete my save, but the song is still stuck in my head. This is the gameboy song that plays when walking throughout a city or a road...
So, I had enough. I go to my dad and tell him I am hearing shit through my ear and cant really concentrate nor sleep. My dad then takes me to a doctor and the doctor checks my ear and said this: Son, did you go swimming anytime this week?
Me: Yeah I did.
Doctor: Well it turns out there is water in your right ear from swimming.., and what happened was that you were playing that game soo much that the sound got in and started bouncing because the water doesn't let it go out.
Me: What.... So how do I get it out?
So eventually he gives me a medicine and tells me to sleep on my right side. The next day, I cant hear the sound anymore  . Then I threw out the cartridge and said to never again play pokemon on GBA with its music on!

Hahaha I remember like 7 years ago, I was sooo addicted to SC, I played it ALL day. Whenever I was out with my friends, I would hear the siege tank sieging up sound randomly throughout the school afternoon. It was ridiculous

Red/Blue/Yellow was the best no question
I got all 150 in Yellow and 147 in Blue. Stopped at around 127 in Red though iirc 
Wasn't as addicted to the next generations as I was to the originals though

my favorite music track from all the pokemon games was in GS when you find Entei/Raikou/Suicune (they had their own special track )

wow, i thought lavender was the only place that had that music... man, i don't know how you guys found that song creepy... i would just stay in that town and listen to it for a loooooong while... the one i found creepy was the one you hear inside the cemetery in that town.

It was all about red for me, i remember when i got the game.. everyone had it and was playing it like crazzzzzzzy.. I remember there were like strategy guides on pokemon just a whole magazine and this made like all the nerds popular until everyone else got it.. I whored red so much it was a joke, then yellow and then got bored of pokemon after that..
Pokemon cards were worse though, holy shit.. Then that died down way sooner than the games did, bringing pokemon cards to school got banned though as some kid stole this whole binder with so many cards.. Everyone knew who did it even though he denied it everytime..

Yeah, at my school some kid in grade 6 or so brought a Charizard card to school when it was the most expensive card out, and he got totally swarmed and mobbed. The teachers had to pull people away from him. The cards were banned the next day.

Have never tuched or seen anything pokemonrelated, mostly due to old age I guess. However I played a bit too much theme park when I was young and heard the music when I were away from the game. Really annoying, went away after a day or so.

I remember a couple of years back I wanted some nostalgia and pulled out my old silver cart, only to be disappointed when there was no 'Continue' option. I started a new game and saved it but when I turned it on again the save was gone. I think it was due to some bs about the battery inside the actual cart running dry, rendering the game dead.
