I'd understand it being a waste of time if the opponent is an uber noob because it wouldn't be fun at all playing standard. If it's such a waste of time to play standard, find someone better to play instead of pissing off someone and ruining their day (or their next few minutes).

The question is if my opponent is bad, what will I do? The question is NOT talking about higher level gaming. It's just asking what will I do if I am better at my opponent. So my answer is, because I already know that I am going to win in the end, I will try to win as fast as I can.
Are you expecting me to give my opponent handicaps just because I know I am better than them? =/
