[h]laptop touchpad

okay, my old laptops touchpad, when using in conjunction of left and right click together, it becomes a "middle" or "third" button. my sony vaio doesnt seem to be do that, anyone else have other ideas on how to find this middle button?

Does your laptop have like touch pad settings thats porb the fastest way to figure it out 3rd button might even be disabled

yeah i went to the settings i really have no idea what to look for. i searched through it. i went to the device settings and it had a "buttons" tab and i opened it; it had left button and right button. thats it.

Download a different driver for your touchpad that supports that function; problem solved

mine is a synaptics ps 2 port touchpad, its 11.1.6.0 version i dont think they have any new ones? what should i type into google to find a driver that supports it>?

umm I remember getting an.. Alps driver iirc? :s
I had to download blindly and had to try 2-3 different drivers before I got one that worked with my touchpad.

Try to find a laptop forum where you can talk to other owners of your laptop model. There's bound to be some useful information (touchpad and other) in forums like that. www.notebookreview.com is a good place to start

edit: you're looking for a thread titled something like "LAPTOP_MODEL owners lounge"

any other suggestions? also, the frigging touchpad skips like if im scrolling from left across to right of screen it sometimes jumps to bottom or top. wtf is this? can i change it somehow? or reduce it? it is SOOOOOO irritating..
