Most of the time because you know your friend on a differently level than as someone you live with there can be conflicts. And because he's your friend, you might have a harder time confronting him about it, in the case that you dont want to "ruin" the friendship. living with someone you dont know is easier because you learn about the person by living with him, thus, less expectations and you'll just take his weird habits for granted. when you're with someone you already know you'll have more "wtf, dude, i didnt know you x y and z!!" which can cause arguements.
thats really fucking mature, no sarcasm i realized that through some ridiculous experience believe it or not, someone who used to be your "best friend" or one of them could turn out to be a complete opposite after u share room/travel with him for some time. My dad used to take small expeditions up in mountains and he told me that people change drastically facing different conditions, you can finally see their true faces. I thought it was relevant to "serious" business( mountains/expeditions), turned out it can get silly while sharing a stupid apartment/making decisions together u will be so fed up with that other person u wont ever want to see him/her again
and lol @ the alarm clock, i use 2 atm and sometimes i shut them both off and wake up late

im more of a death metal emo guy who fronts like a nerd when speaking with strangers however is a slacker at heart and generally pretty mellow about things, but then thats superficial so i gues i should fix that T.T

One thing about studying: get out of your room and away from your computer. If your teacher posts stuff online, print it and go to the library, study lounge, etc. It's amazing what you can do when you're not distracted.
oh i do that! i go to a tea house and do my online UT quest homework from Chem/Physics II helps a lot although when it gets dark they start telling me to shoo T.T

I always wake up, turn off my alarm and go back to sleep without having any recollection of it. It's more impressive when somebody physical wakes me because I can manage complex conversations on autopilot and not know any of it happened.

College dorm life is not something to fear, enjoy it, for some people it's the best few years of their lives.
The fact that you are worrying so much just means you'll be OK. Just don't get a bitch pregnant.

Games are fine, it's just time management. It's knowing how to prioritize. Let yourself play for a few hours but try and make arrangements to study WITH people somewhere away from where you're playing games. by doing that, at least the other people are keeping you accountable and you'd feel bad about ditching them... and eventually you'll be able to depend on yourself to study when you have to.
meh this sounds like a great idea; but i've had bad bad experiences where; oh look it's me doing al the work while you guys copy my answers then have the nerve to ask me about what it means Or oh hey im gonna just give u guys my email and ill make up the powerpoint u guys just email me anything you find and prepare for a speech for class!..... *does powerpoint for 4 hours*
them: "....uhhh i went to sleep dude, did u do it?" Seriously , high school sucks balls. ZOMG TEACHER THINKS ITS FUN TO PICK PPL FOR GROUP. And guess what happens now! I'm in a group of 3 people for a science fair , that i've already done like 4 proposals( first 3 got rejected, can't use darned human subjects ; or just build something... it's not a demo! science teacher says , etc ) Whereas the other people that are in my group were actually much more considerate(honors physics II class) and researched some things for me, but in the end it paled in comparison to my work and i'm really starting to worry when we're going to meet. It just sucks moving from school to school and not knowing anyone i guess.
But i've always tried not to let anyone down and at that moment in time(now looking back jesus christ they were fags) i was actually worried about if my powerpoint was good enough, or my presentation was good enough for them; even though they didn't lift a finger(although promises were made!) ( is that wrong? ) It's a strange form of motivation but w/e.
And thus ends my semi argument against working with people. Or at least why im more inclined to working alone=/

Oh and i'm a virgin ; never kissed a girl before and ... i have the bestest close friends ever ^-^(most of which are girls) . I dunno, it's not really important to me. So i probably won't have to worry about that. Unless like i actually have sex.. then i put the condom on wrong XDD (don't know how it works)

+100000 to susie's suggestion about putting the alarm clock on the other side of the room, plus it adds some guilt if your roommate is still asleep
about 2, a lot of college is self-discipline, if you can't handle something as simple as not playing games all the time, you won't handle college well
fafsa is good, but you'll be surprised how little money you will get (<3 federal gov)
on 4, it's very easy to be smart in college and still have a lot of fun, it's also very easy to be very stupid, the choice is yours

marry your dormmate = win and on a more serious note, College/school is the time where you most likely will have the most fun in your life. Partying is fine as long as you know when to draw the line. e.g. not partying when you should be learning for a fucking examn or going out to do sports a couple of times a week oO
|
You'll be amazed how naturally you just glide right into dorm life.
An alarm is easy enough to wake up. If that fails, you'll wake up to your roomate saying, "turn off the fucking alarm"
I agree that if you can't manage to control your gaming habits, you're going to have much more serious issues. It shouldn't be that hard anyway, you should be in constant contact with people, taking you away from the games.
