So I have this project due by next week and I have to draw some Winter or holiday-like design on my calculator and then print it out and color it. It has to have 10 different types of functions, though I can have more to make it look better.
The ten functions: linear absolute value quadratic square root cubic rational exponential logarithmic circle
I've been thinking about drawing a christmas tree or a dreydl but I haven't started. Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks
Edit: The teacher is only grading on the 10 functions, I can have other stuff too.

try making homework threads when you graduate preschool LOLZ!!1
(but seriously, are you just making a shell for your calculator? and how do those functions fit it?)
edit: ohh i get it
WAHAHAH!

LOL uncontrollable laughter. Can you even fail this?

I know that some calculators can like draw stuff and shit, but he saying he has to do it, like using functions and stuff is like Holy fucking shit.

Make a Christmas tree ornament...

what's so funny? I know I can just draw on my calculator but I need to use functions.
|
that's freakin crazy lol wow.

I think the easiest things would be a circular Christmas tree ornament, or two sine or cosine waves (and just call it a ribbon).
Edit: Oh, wait, I didn't read the requirements properly...

Ok thanks Descent and MasterofChaos. Helped out alot

MasterOfChaos' idea is good, I didn't help at all. =(

it's actually pretty cool.
linear- just rotate the same line over and over and you'll approx a many pointed star absolute value quadratic square root cubic- many pointed stars, just rotate the general cubic function a bunch, rational - i might sound dumb, but wtf is this one asking for? I thought that we were only working in the xy (aka rational) number plane, as opposed to imaginary/time variant/whatever else plane exponential logarithmic circle- obv the xmas ball
that's all i bothered to come up with right now, I think that it would be nice if there were examples of each type of function. for example, exponential can mean 2^x, or x^2. both are exponential functions. So is a log function actually, it's basically a exponential function. etc.

I don't think it matters because those are both exponential. Thanks
But how would you make a cubic function look like a star?

if you rotated it, although its not easy to do in the straight up xy plane. can use polar, or anything else?
|
Aw no polar? That probably would've been the easiest way to make a snowflake.
|
I probably could, I can just tell the teacher I got help from other people. She's only grading it on the 10 functions, I can add other stuff if I want.

Make a circle with a hook dude. Wtf.
