Edit: So watched all the vids. The competition is just like Taekwondo then, no hands for attacking right? Like defense and grapple only. Meh, that type isn't that great to watch since they usually end up getting thrown if they kick, more complex the kick it's easier to grapple, and they end up hugging a lot becos if one backs up he gets kicked lol.

Yes, that was true in 04, in 09 a new set of rules that allowed punches and hand techniques to be used by they cant be straight to the face punches because they may cause huge bleeding. The great thing about this art is each year they keep adding and removing and editing it, basically polishing it more and more to become really good.

I'm a team sports guy and I've always considered you martial arts guys to be a bit dorky, but I have to admit that video does make me a bit jealous.

But the guy in the video does it so elegantly The point of whats going on in the first video is to minimize the impact of the fall or something in order to recover almost instantly or at least thats what i was told...

I haven't learnt any of the crazy breakfall stuff though, I do it at circus on big mats all the time, but never in a martial arts setting.

He has a style making him stand out in just a few seconds, in some of the videos I misjudge and think he is a fraction late, but he is just timing it perfectly, translating his energy into what would have been crushing/knocking out someone had it not been dummies/plastic taking the kicks. Some of his kicks look even better in slowmo, that speaks for itself imo Thank you for sharing.
