Question mark, exclamation mark, dark mark, etc. OEDILF lists both "exclamation mark" and "exclamation point", as well as "bang". The original OED indicates that the original word for ! was "point of exclamation", "note of exclamation", or simply "exclamation". Both "exclamation mark" and "exclamation point" were originally U.S. usages, although now they have spread. OED cites 1864 Webster's Dictionary with "exclamation point".
