Any stories of donating blood? Passing out, running around after giving blood which makes you faint? My teacher told us a story once when he played basketball for like 3 hours and then he passed out on the court. lol

It was actually pretty intimidating because at the time I was in line to give blood for my first time.

The second time I donated blood I hadn't eaten anything for breakfast. I felt fine until I got up. I suddenly got reeeeaaaally light-headed and my vision was covered in black dots. They kept increasing in number really fast until my vision was almost entirely black. I ended up falling to my knees and having to rest in the place where they designated the "unfortunate" kids should go if something bad happened. Apparently I hadn't had enough blood sugar, so I was given some chocolate cookies (they tasted horrible, like they were days old) and sent on my way once I was feeling better. I'll be less retarded next time D:

Actually when they pricked my finger before the actual blood drawing, it hurt even more than the actual needle, lol. Oh also my friend Josh passed out after we were chilling and eating oreos that they gave us for giving blood. He stood up to go back to the cafeteria and just kinda fell down again and they took him to the side and had him lay down for about an hour. Oh and I didn't eat breakfast that morning and I gave 2 pints. Beast-mode.

I've given blood every time they have come to my university and gone out of my way a few times. It's no big deal so don't be scared to donate. Plus, I'm type O so it's especially useful to give. Don't people from the US get paid to give blood?

But the thing I hated was this thing where they test your iron levels and this needle and it hits your finger and it starts bleeding real bad and stings for like 10 minutes.

dont worry, you came in the thread, so we have you to laugh at instead lolzozlzol donating blood is like getting high without doing anything, haha. it's trippy. though definitely don't do anything active after. i gave blood and then played lacrosse 3 -4 hours later. i thought i was gonna die on the field. every hit felt like getting smacked with a ton of bricks. noooo fun.

It's not that serious unless you don't eat well normally. I've always done intensive sports after donating because I exercise every day and I've never fainted. Your arm is a little stiff which is frustrating but it goes away after a day.
