I'm going to spoiler this entire post as it contains spoilers relating to the Club Day Online MSL - Group B

Club Day Online MSL - Group B - The thread. If you would take a gander at the posts within the last 3 or so pages, disecting the nights play. You can see a lot of arguments and the like about the results. This is obvious because in what everyone would deem and upset, Yarnc trashed Flash twice and caused his elimination from the MSL.

It must be pretty embarassing for Flash to be sitting there with straight vs zerg losses to Rumble, Hyuk and Yarnc. Losses to crappy B level zergs in random matches might have been excusable, but going out of OSL ro32 to a yarnc who didn't even play that great is not.

Flash has had, in two games that matter losses, rumble, fantasy and hyuk were matches that were for show, similar to the proleauge all star where he beat jaedong, so dont start quoting showmatches for how someone is performing, he has beaten july, and much who has looked to be in the best tvp form of his life, he beat bul_t he just lost 2 games to yarnc and no that isnt an embarrasment because yarnc is a good player, he is favorite against bisu and rightly so, i'd say that flash has been performing well considering these results

Dude, you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. Yarnc is a great Zerg player, this is not OSL RO306, and Flash never lost to Rumble/Hyuk/Yarnc in straight losses. He was on a 4 winning streak vs Zerg before losing to Yarnc twice. Just be quiet and we won't find out how stupid you are.
Flash lost to Rumble in Day 1 of the KTF v SKT1 Rival battle, and Hyun on day 2. While you might argue that they're not 'official Kespa' matches, he still lost them.

I heard Flash was laughing and picking stuff off of his shoe in those games, is that true? What do Hyun and Rumble have to practice for? Nothing. What did Flash have to practice for? OSL/MSL. You have to include maps and players for practice. You're wrong, let's just leave it.

I will readily admit: I am not a Flash fan, I'm more apathetic to him.

And obviously most of the quotes I wanted to use as evidence are likely from Flash Haters v Flash Lovers, but the question I want to know is; who is more 'correct'? Do wins or losses in a show match mean anything about a player?

Argument: A game is being played, thus it gives some sort of general indicator to a players form. Also, in show matches you are most likely facing people who are at or around your level, it should be a relatively even match (unless you suffer from FBH syndrome and the other side exploits that).

Discussion: I'm probably more along with line of thought; it's a game thats being played, it gives you an idea of how a player is going.

Defense: Progamers don't care about show matches and will cheese/do something silly/just play lazy because the result mean nothing.

Discussion: While some may think it has a valid place, I think it's pathetic if progamers would actually adopt this mindset. They're PROFESSIONAL gamers, it's their job, not caring about the outcome of a game isn't very professional IMO. I'm ok with them being more relaxed, but you should still give it your all.

Defense: Top tier players don't get the opportunity to practice for show matches, as they have to practice for the individual leagues. Whereas their opposition (atleast in this Flash case) may not be in the OSL/MSL and have time to practice for the encounter.

Discussion: This one has some merit, but I think that (in this case) if you're the ultimate weapon, 3rd best player in the world (Thanks Powerrank!), you should be able to combat a bit of a handicap with pure skill. What about show matches were your opponent doesn't get to practice? Or when you both do get the chance to practice? Are show matches only relevant when both players are on entirely equal footing?

To me; It seems that there is a bit of a double standard at play.

I BET you that if Savior/Yellow/Any other slumping old progamer played a good set of show matches and won, a large majority of people would be running around screaming "SECOND COMING OF [player x]", sure a lot of these people would be fanboys, but I'm sure that people would take notice and probably hope that it is indeed true.

The other side of a double standard; Losses don't mean anything. There were a thousand reasons why player X didn't win, I am his valiant defender etc, coming from the fanboys.

So I guess in sum all I can come up with is that fanboys are ruining StarCraft.

The way Flash played, that is typical of him. He would had lost in the same situation, tournament or not. It varies case by case, but for those Flash matches, yeah I think they count.
