And no, I'm going to give everyone that buys food at Burger King, Sonic, and White Castle my cooties. Micronesia, I get a furnished house, washing machine and dryer, kitchen, cable TV, bathroom, telephone, electricity/water, swimming pool in the backyard. The story is, this house used to be rented by 3 guys including myself, but they all moved out and the landlord didn't think it'd be fair to raise my rent because of it. So before I used to have a room with all these benefits, but now I have the whole house to myself. | ||

Yes. It is private, and he owns 4 houses in the area. He is trying to sell them off, but the market sucks so hard in redneck Virginia that he is forced to give rent for cheap because otherwise he would be making no money out of the properties. With the rent for a one person apartment being between 180 and 450 in this area, 250 for a room in a good house was a good deal; if it was more expensive, people would just get their own apartments. So in the end I get a good deal out of it, and he gets money to pay the bills. All his properties are entirely his own (no lease or anything like that), so all he needs is enough to cover the bills and to make a slight profit. I also help keep the house clean (easy, since I am the only one that lives there and I'm barely ever there) and cut the grass, feed the dogs, clean the pool, etc. No I didn't sleep with them. He's just a nice old WW2 vet, and he likes me because I always pay him back when I'm behind on rent and I talk to him politely, which is rare around these parts. | ||
