I finally got around to watching the "Dark Knight" and even with all the hype, and wasn't disappointed at all. Its not a "perfect" movie, but it has all the elements that made it memorable: Entertaining throughout; complex characters; and a surprisingly deep, and thought-provoking story.
A great candidate for the best movie of 2008. Heath Ledger should be a lock for best actor (not simply because he died after the role, but because he truly deserved it). I have a good feeling it might also win best cinematography, and best motion soundtrack.

I am definitely going to re-watch the movie, for the many memorable scenes it contains, and I was wondering what's your favorite scene? For me, its difficult to choose just one, but for the sake of the poll, I would say when Joker visits Dent in the hospital, and explains why he did what he did, because it was the one moment where the Joker showed a bit of humanity.

 Poll: Favorite Scene?
 (Vote): Dissapearing Pencil "Trick"
(Vote): Bad-ass prisoner demands the detonator
 (Vote): "Why so serious?"
(Vote): Joker explains himself to Dent
 (Vote): Batman-Joker interrogation
 (Vote): The Ending
 (Vote): Other (specify)

I laughed hard at the disappearing pencil trick
I also quite liked the bit with the parachute landing on the front of the airplane and Batman just jumps off the skyscraper.

I laughed when dent is in the bed and the joker takes his mask off and smiles and is like "hai".

I thought the coolest part in the movie was during the assassinations. That's when the suspense was strongest.

The bank job intro was pretty badass, too. "The Joker told me to take him out." "That's funny, he told me somethin' similar." "Wha.. No!" =D

Probably when the motorcycle weaved under the 18-wheeler and completely flipped it. Also the little wall run-turn around thing immediately after.

my favorite was when two-face and joker were in 1 place and two-face had the coin, you live, you die. that was ILL to me cuz it was 2 villains against each other sort of

The scene with the disappearing pencil, for a couple of reasons. First, the trick was absolutely bad ass. Second, because of Heath's acting it revealed that the Joker was very sensative to being called a freak. It made the Joker much more believable as a human, rather than a super villain.

After he 'makes the pencil disappear' does anyone know exactly what he's saying? It sounds like 'its magic. gone' but when he's saying it its more like 'its magigone'.
