Oh we're just going as friends, so nothing too romantic. And we're DEF. not going over that line of friendship no matter what. I guess I just want to do something memorable with her to make it special for us (we're close friends)

Hire a chauffeur to drive you in a Rolls or Bentley.
Charter a hot-air balloon ride to the venue.

Thats not reason for you to not be romantic; do it in a funny way. Make it known that you're doing it jokingly, as friends, but you still want her to feel special, have a good time, etc. It really helps if you have inside jokes and such, depending on what kind of friendship it is, to ease the mood if either of you is nervous and help you have a good time. Do you usually hang out together, if so, what do you do? What are her biggest interests? Etc etc.

wow your prom is late. ya renting a car would prolly be best option, if you have the money. i had a friend who just rented a limo for himself and his date, was like 500 bucks what a fag.

Chillax and make it memorable through sharing memories, telling jokes, and dancing hard. More fun, more memorable.

wow that sucks. for my group we just let the girls plan everything and all we did was pay, haha. luckily one of the girls had an uncle who owned some type of Limo rental company so we got a baller one for free
pretty good deal
edit: I agree that you should rent a nice sports car. Though Idk if you want to spend that much money for just a friend, haha.
