In the past half hour I have contributed to the military defense of our great nation (which kinda sucks but that's another matter). How, you ask? It just so happens my dad works for a company that builds/designs systems for certain navy airplanes. He works on their radar and related systems. He's about to go on a business trip to Florida to work on some of the planes as opposed to simulations in the labs here. He told me he suddenly realized he could use a tool to aid him in his work on the airplane.
I'm not privy to the details (which are somewhat classified I believe) but he's going to be analyzing pictures on a computer monitor within the airplane. He needs to be able to take brief, approximate measurements of distances in different directions on a map display, with the largest radius focusing to the North West (I think that's the direction a runway faces). He needed a tool that would be more convenient than screwing around with a ruler.
That tool, is a transparency with concentric circles spaced at intervals of one centimeter. Since transparencies are easiest to come across in 8.5x11 inches, we agreed that we should aim to use that. So anyway, he asked me if there was a way for me to do that, and at the last minute I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it.
But the security of our nation comes before homework, starcraft, anime, and console games (except for final fantasy 7). Inside of 20 minutes I had put together the world's most useful military device. It would singlehandedly change the way my dad's business trip went in a day or two. Behold: + Show Spoiler +For those of you who continue to take everything I say at face value, note that this is a POS by the standards of anyone good with Photoshop or who has enough time to look up how to do this right and plan accordingly. However, it is actually perfectly fine for meeting the criteria my dad had set for the item. Luckily, my dad brought home some transparencies perfectly suited for my color laser printer which I probably spent too damn much money on in October. I have not given this masterpiece a name, but it will probably include the letters Z, Q, 4, and possibly the batman symbol.

Too many colors, and the circles start to spin when I read the numbers and then check the circles :D

I was literally just clicking random places in the color spectrum as I made the rings, and when I offered to change colors around before printing he actually said he didn't care so I just went with it XD

Haha @ copyright symbol... I mean if someone goes to copy it I don't care because I can make a much nicer one given the time.
