total time spent mb 70 minute... 20 minute for mc, 50 for essays. kinda short/lame essays but I covered all the things you need for points w/e | ||

As far as essays, dbq was pretty easy, seemed kinda a random topic, but probably good for seeing how well we can analyze documents on a subject we know little about. CoT was retarded, indian ocean commerce is just too boring to write so much about. CoC was hard, I wasn't sure whether to do Middle East or Sub-Saharan, but I ended up with Mid east because i was fairly confident i could talk about how fucked up it was. I bsed a lot on the last two just like you. Is it just me or did the essays seem like weird overall? Our teacher showed us past years questions and they were a lot more broad in scope, easier i think than these. Oh well, I'm pretty confident I got at least a 3, possibly 4 if it turns out i did ok on the essays. edit: yeah essays were hard but like lastromantic said if you cover the things you need for points then you're pretty much guaranteed a 7 (as long as your facts are right). I would say I spent about 35 min on the MC, 30 on DBQ, and 20 for each of the others. | ||

Some of the past questions seemed similar, like the periods would overlap each other but you might have gotten different ones for practice. What kind of essay topics did you get? Some of mine were like comparing spanish empire building to the islam empires, or there was one similar from this years topic, something about the indian ocean trade with africa. I was not expecting that sort of DBQ, about the olympics but it doesn't matter since you don't need to know anything about it to write it. Dknight, the essays were a DBQ on the olympics and the factors of it or something, then a change over time about the Indian ocean trade from 650-1750, the last one was comparing 19th century latin america to 20th century middle east or sub saharan africa. | ||

It was something like what was most similar about the Mughal and Ottoman empires, but I don't remember what the possible answers were... I had the same essays as you, I think they are the same for all people who take the test? Olympics, Indian Ocean, Latin American/Sub-Sarahan/Middle East emergence. In other news, this kid I know completely fucked the test and knew he was going to fail, so he wrote paragraphs about how the testmakers were cocksuckers, gay, get a life...etc. So then evidently they do some sort of check to make sure you're legit, and now he has to face either 1 week suspension or pay $84 for the cost of the test and write an apology to the college board. ROFL, another guy I know did everything legit, but drew a HUGE veiny penis at the very end, so far nothing for him. We will see. | ||
