Ever since I could remember I wanted to take a trip out to see Europe - I guess it's just one of those American things where we see that continent as something completely exotic. Well, I leave today for Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, Stockholm, Geneva, Ljubljana and London. ^_^

Ok, so I prolly won't be doing all the crazy things that people normally do when on a trip to Europe, but I'm sure I'll have my fun anyways, since I love history, culture and am pretty adaptable to whatever situations.

I just wanted to share that with you guys. If any of you wanna meet up while I'm on the road, I'll have internet access, just let me know. I'll be posting up pictures if I get the chance too.

Once I get back, I'll be moving back out to Korea to assist Nick in his conquest to rule over the English speaking SC league.

Can't wait, can't wait - heading out now!

When are you arriving in Stockholm? Your experience may differ depending on what time of the year it is It's awesome in the summer but right now... not so awesome.

"Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, Stockholm, Geneva, Ljubljana and London." in that order?

You'll love Barcelona. It's one of the most interesting, diverse and fun cities in Europe.

No Heidelberg? I thought American tourist are required to go there by law or sth.

Hey susie, I just got back from a 5 day trip in Barcelona a few days ago. Here are my dodgy tips:...

- Walk lots around the main city. Barcelona has incredible architecture and so just strolling around with a map is lots of fun in itself. In particular, check-out the quaint small streets in the heart of the city (around the central cathedral).
- Having said that, unless youre a fan of popped blisters, some places do require the underground. Buy a "T10" ticket, which allows you to make 10 single trips anywhere within Zone 1 (Zone 1 covers basically everything you need so don't worry about going outside of it)
- No.1 tourist attraction is Sagreda Familia! You'll need underground to get to it (it's not the cathedral in the middle of the city). Definitely worth the visit. There's an English tour guide but when I was there, it definitely wasn't worth waiting 1.5 hours for ...(grab the audio guide instead)
- Gaudi, Gaudi, Gaudi. If architecture is your thing, he is your (G?) man.. (hoho!). Try to visit the two buildings on the street slightly to the north and to the right of La Ramblas.
- La Ramblas itself is a must. Make sure to check out the huge market on the right of the street if you looking down the slope. Beware of taking photos near the funny statue-people. Some of them get realllllllllllly pissed off if you do it without giving them some change.
- If you've got the monays, try to see a flamenco show. There's only a few places that do it and it's around £40 + nice buffet. I went to the one at 35 La Rambla - was pretty good!
- Food is not bad but not cheap either in Barcelona. There are lots of cute places that serve traditional Spanish tapas + paella though. Their patisseries/bakeries are cool too...
- Ooh nearly forgot, Spanish people unfortunately don't speak as much English as the stereotypical continental European Pointing and shouting never fails though.

Hope that helps, apologies if it was patronising.

I can never emphasize this enough when it comes to traveling: watch your valuables!

(I know this may seem like an obvious one, but when it comes to pickpockets, Europe is strife with some of the best. My girlfriend had her purse stolen right out from under her nose in Barcelona in an internet cafe; I got pickpocketed on a subway in Rome and, the funniest thing was, I thought I knew it was happening. We were always super vigilant, but there are some really good thieves out there!).
