Similar to the way teamliquid attack was captured, I would like somebody to capture a 1:1 for me. Basically, they just join as an observer, and record using Camtasia or whatever while showing the important battles etc, and then compress/send the video to me somehow (not youtube plz). I can't do it myself because I'll be playing (and I don't know if I have Camtasia installed/configured right now or not anyway) and I don't want a fpvod...

If anyone is available/willing, it will be at 10pm tonight Friday EST @ USEAST. I'll pm you the location if you want to do it. BTW, it is going to probably be a lame game (one sided), but it's going to be really funny when the video is shown to a large group of people after all the trashtalk that has been happening :D (If you want the whole story, I'll tell you in pm once you help me capture the game).

I just tried capturing for myself (haven't done it in a while) and ran into some problems... it's Camtasia 5, and when I choose an area to record, none of them seem to work, even though I am hitting f9 after the game begins...

Actually the problem is it's tabbing me out (I've been phishing through). I'm starting to look around now... if I find the solution to my problem, then great. If I don't, then I was justified in positing about it in my blog :D

Edit: Okay, most of those 7000 posts are from earlier version of camtasia that work differently, and second, nobody specific which exact setting needs to be changed in order for the software to not minimize sc when you start recording... so in other words... I need help, or for someone to point me to the post that I missed that explains which setting to change.

Edit2: By toggling a bunch of settings I eventually got the video to work... now I just need to get the audio to work, but that should be easy.

Try Fraps. I used it, and it works fine. Also make sure your video card is running on the latest drivers offered by the manufacturer - that could be a problem too.

Edit - I'd definitely do it, but I'm not sure what you mean by tonight because I'm across the world from you (GMT+5.30). Also, I have to warn you that my DSL is crappy, and I may lag out. So if there is absolutely no one else, you can try me as a last alternative.

I've used both.. Camtasia was much better. Anyway, I'm trying to upgrade the audio drivers... not the video drivers. We'll see how that goes.

I can't do it, but I can tell you that Camtasia 5 is crap. Camtasia 4 > Camtasia 5 and I personally haven't tried FRAPS a lot, but IIRC the file size is huge.

Well dealing with file size isn't that hard as long as you have the space, because you can always compress it afterwards.
