When i want to know more information on something, i want to know the information. not some patent, not cleverly hidden sales pitches disguised as an expose article, not all of the statistics, while no exact mechanisms.

This usual superficial jibberish that witholds real information is most commonplace in networks and outlets with the greatest number of readers. (ironically... or is it intentionally?)

for instance, my breathing problem has gotten worse, so i i wanted to look up if chlorine was bad for you, and HOW it was bad for you - the mechanisms, the reactions. so i find this little article. it was great, it claimed to link asthma to chlorine exposure. great so i take a look. and this is the superficial crap that i see.
http://www.asthma.ca/bulletins/State_of_the_Asthma_Nation_Apr2007_English.pdf

i use this chlorine example as a case in point. Goals articles such as these (esp in "health" magazines) accomplish
1) doesn't explain any real knowledge about the mechanisms of the problem as well. do they assume we're idiots and no one but their priesthood will understand the chemistry? undoubtedly there are some who can't, in fact many. but to never explain at all? what measure do we the have, if those physicians/writers don't explain the mechanisms, of whether they are doing something right or wrong, whether the treatment is toxic and can cause other problems fro mthe chemical exposure? Articles such as these keep people in the dark about the cure.
2) There are plenty of products and patents on the article. Great sales pitch. they start off with the titel of being osme sort of eye catching expose/discovery/rediscovery, mainly accomplished by preying on the fear and pain of one suffering. every "solution" is ExCELLerate (tm) hydroxycut (tm). i don't wnat to know the name of your product. i don't even know what the fuck is in it. therefore i want information that seeks to spread itself, not "information" with the sale of your product in mind. i want to knwo the active component, and all the components in it. take your hydroxyshit and choke on it while you sip your martini.
3) prestige. doctors pictures, accolades, honors. and in this case all the doctor talked about was communication. if i could communicate my way out of asthma or a cold we might as well have "communication" as a treatment for aids. this article mentions that "many people often don't know how to use their medication properly" well shit, you're going to solve a whole lot aren't you? thats a substandard problem. it may very well be prevalent, but if it is used correctly. we already have a cure don't we?

This is the type of article that i, and im sure many others suffering from problems want to see.
http://www.biophysica.com/Fatigue.html

this one's on fatigue. first addresses the holistic components, but as you scroll down, there is a section in smaller print explaining more or less a "root" cause, or atleast a precise mechanism.

all about ATP, rate limiting factors the whole deal. now not everyone may know what malic acid is, and really know where it fits in either. but comon, do most doctors think we're that hopelessly idiotic not to tell us? there are chemical names out that peopel use all the time.

Thats my blog about information, and how money seekers withold, block, and pervert it with their superficial "analysis", product patents and self- accolade awarding.
If you think my writing is biased, hating, intolerant, has an air of annoyance, well that's because it is, and does.

Look at your sources. One is an advocacy group and the other is trying to peddle garbage. Both are poor sources for information.

Unfortunately there's a lot of bullshit out there when it comes to medical questions, and part of the reason to blame is because idiots buy into it. I suggest you add "nih" or "mayo" to any searches you do, or stick to real news sources/universities/etc.

Thats why google is so rich, because they help people find what they are looking for. They may not be very good at it yet (with areas such as this), but you can see how important knowledge is, and finding it.

Thats why it seems like the best source of information on the internet is forums. When you find a group of people who have an interest in a specific topic, you've found a way to find knowledge. Your first goal should be to find those people who can tell you where to look.

Remember, knowing what your problem is in the first place most of the work.

You should use Google Scholar to find scientific journals that talk about the issues.

I looked at the fatigue link and it's basically trash. It makes two points:

1. A rough overview on ATP synthesis/mechanism (you can read this in a high school bio book)
2. Hand-waving on how missing components might impact ATP production.

I hope you can imagine how incomplete this analysis is. The problems with consulting a proper peer-reviewed scientific article though are: it may be dense and difficult, and more narrow on a specific topic without background.
hmm.
