http://www.dd-wrt.com/ I would do it, but I can't afford another router if it messes up. <_<

I hear good things about Buffalo routers as the best of the cheap kinds, but apparently they're having legal issues right now and can't sell their products or something? Anyway, the Linksys wrt54g is a good, standard wireless router for under $50 that you should be able to find in just about any store. Just note that in the version 8, the antennas are not detatchable. If you for some reason wanted to flash on the dd-wrt open source firmware as an alternative to the supported native Linksys firmware, I could probably give you the relevant links for the correct version of the firmware to use (it's buried in like the 30th page of a forum post, lolz; no stable release works). At this moment, the wireless N standard is in the later stages of revision and dealing with legal issues, etc. It's the next greatest thing in wireless LAN standards, and pre-N or draft N products have already been on the market for one or two years by now I think. These products hope that the current draft will be close enough to the final draft that they will be able to perfectly interoperate, but it's something of a small gamble. If you wait a couple of years you'll be able to get an actual 802.11n product, which may or may not be worth waiting for. The draft-n products are superior in range and speed to the current standards: a, b, and g. However, unless you have multiple think concrete walls all over the place and/or need speeds higher than 3 MByte/s, any cheaper, established 802.11g product should be fine for your needs. So just go with the Linksys wrt54g or something similar.
