Codl hands once again

I've been grappling with this problem and I haven't found a solution. While I play, my hands get cold. I've slid my keyboard all the way to the edge of the desk so that I'm not resting my wrist on the corner of the desk, which probably helps, but apparently isn't helping enough. I dress slightly more warmly than I feel like I should need to, but what happens is, I start sweating while my hands feel cold at the same time. I'm starting to think there's nothing I can do about it. I should just stop playing if this is how it's gonna be because I get into a vicious cycle where my hands get cold and I play poorly, and I get really angry when I play poorly D:

Edit: I'm so annoyed about this I can't even type the word cold.

It sounds like an anxiety reaction. The competitive factor makes you anxious, and your body experiences the fight or flight reaction. Your body sucks blood from the extremities into the core, so that if you were to get wounded, your chances of bleeding much would be reduced.

I bet you don't get this same response when you play people you know well or people you easily beat. Am I wrong?

You might try a few things: exercise, first of all, to increase circulation, eating better, and meditation (to learn to cope with anxiety and to become more mellow/laid back.)

Haha interesting. I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by 'eating better.' I haven't found meditation to do anything for me in the little bit I've tried... As for more exercise: that's probably a very good suggestion. I definitely should exercise more regardless... but I doubt it's going to happen, at least this year.

happened to me before, its good to have your arms rest on your desk, make sure your desk is lower than your arm so the circulation of your blood isnt going up, make your chair high as well
