My current computer is slothing and freezing up nowadays. It is time for me to get a new computer. I'm not computer wiz, but I am not a caveman either.
1) What I want:
- A computer that can smoothly play the latest games.
- A computer that will last many years.
- A computer that is powerful, and will do things quickly
2) Budget: Less than $1000
I saw ads for IBuyPower.com, so I gave it a look and this is what I chose(not completely sure what I was doing):
• Case - Nzxt Alpha Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply
• Power Supply - Standard Case Power Supply
• Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6750 (2x 2.66GHz/4MB L2 Cache/1333FSB)
• Cooling - [=== Silent ===] Extreme-Performance INTEL CPU Cooling Fan System Kit
• Asus P5KPL-VM Intel G31 Chipset w/6-channels, Gb LAN, S-ATA 3Gb/s, USB 2.0, Single PCI-E MB
• Memory - 1024MB [512MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module Corsair-Value or Major Brand
• VideoCard - Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB w/DVI + TV Out Video
• HardDrive - 200 gb (I have a 450 gb external)
• CD/DVD - 20X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive
• Sound - 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard
• Network card - Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100)
• Mouse and keyboard(unimportant)
Total: $829
So would this PC fit what I want out of a new PC? Is there anything on here that should be downgraded/upgraded? Or am I taking the wrong path to begin with? Any help is appreciated =).
