This week the lanes were about as dry as last time. Fortunately I performed a bit better than the previous weeks.

My scores: 182, 227, 154

Game 1: Despite getting off to a slow start with three consecutive 9-'s, I finished strong.

Game 2: The only open was the first frame where I had another damn 9-. Other than that it was well played, including a 4 bagger IIRC.

Game 3: I think I was getting a bit tired by this point. There were four of us playing (including a pacer) and it went very fast so I wasn't able to control my strike ball as well anymore. Once again my hope for a 600 series was denied haha.

Conclusion: Apparently, dry lanes don't automatically exclude me from having good games. I'm starting to get better about the 10 pin finally. My footwork has been one of my major issues, I feel, and today by the later games I was sliding properly. I'm hoping to ride the momentum into next week, as we won all 11 points (which is no surprise since my partner put up a 686).

686 is fucking insane.

A bit over 228 per game...what was his high game for that night? What was his high game ever?

His high tonight was 246 or 247 IIRC. He claims his high is 270 from many years ago, but I didn't see it. I've seen him bowl in the 250s a few times.

Hmm...tell me what kind of form you guys use. Also, when you release, do you look at the ground to see where you release or do you focus your eyesight on the pins?

My form is the 4-step form taught by my dad. I have a lot of trouble using it properly though...

I use a 4 step approach and I look at the arrows when I release the ball. You're suppose to just look at your target, whatever it may be, all the way thru your swing. Must decent bowlers do a 5-step approach now a days though.

I also use 4 steps. They are very large steps, though. I start all the way back with my heels up against the very end of the wooden section.

People have told me to train my eyes on the mark I am aiming for, but I never really focus on that.

My partner uses a 5 step approach with small steps. It's amazing how much further up than me he starts despite taking more steps.

Man I went bowling this last sat. on the navy base in corpus christi. The lanes were the driest I've ever bowled on. No matter what I did the ball always came in high. I bowled like 4 games at like 110, 110, 170,130. The worst games I've had in like 6 years. I just couldn't believe it. But oh well after the first game and a half I realized I just didn't have the correct ball for the lane conditions.

What is your age?

I use a 16 pound Battle Zone Missile I bought like 6 years ago for high school bowling. I realized long ago that except for possibly the 10 pin I have no need for a second ball despite my crazy hook.

I'm 24. I have no problem hitting any pins with the main expect the 6, 9, and especially 10 pin thats when I like to use a lighter ball (11 or so) with very little hook. Ey, it works for me.

So you've been in this 6 years now?

I'm 23 and bowl with a 15 pound conquest that I've had for like 5 or 6 years now. I use a blue dot for my 6 and 10 pin spares. Everything else I can with my main ball. I know a lot of people that are in the 800 club and that have 300 games. T.t wish I was one of them. My highest is only 279 which I bowled ages ago.

I started bowling seriously in freshman year of high school, but didn't get decent until like year 2 or 3. I didn't bowl during my 4 years of college (maybe once or twice) and I just picked it back up a few months ago.

I started bowling my soph. year in high school. Although I took two years off between early 05 and late 06. And I picked it back up after my friends from penscola to corpus christi for nationals in summer 06. I was doing fine until then. Damn them
