Dream Theater concert

[WARNING long post incoming, I am sorry, but I wanted to have this on special place]

Finally, they have arrived in Croatia. Dream Theater, the band that I respect the most held concert yesterday 07.06.2007 in Zagreb, Croatia. I can`t really tell how excited I was during last few weeks. Even more because I had to finish my final work on college (to write about 25+ pages on some theme). I have been able to finish it yesterday also.

I came in Zagreb at 18.20h, the "gate" opened at 19.00h. Fortunately, there haven`t been many people waiting in front of entrance, most likely because DT was scheduled to play at 21.00. Anyways, I wanted to come as soon as possible because I wanted to cement place in front rows, and also see guest band Dominici.

At first concert should have been held at open, but there was very bad weather here in Croatia during the whole week (rain), so concert had to be transferred

Long story short Dominici opened at 19.45, and they played about 45 mins. I must say Dominici gathered young musicians, and their music off second album in not bad at all. However sound setup was a bit off. You couldn`t hear singer at all. Especially that sucked when he wanted to ask crowd something. We just couldn`t hear him, and we were like WHAT?

A little before 21.00 DT kicked in. The crowd went nuts. It was just like when Croatian football team plays, we were so loud, and I mean LOUD. I think DT was VERY surprised seeing us like that. You could see smile on their faces. I am really glad that we Croatians prepared such a welcome for DT. The guys really loved it. It was hard to sneak in camera, the guys on entrance checked everyone. They have found mine, but then I had to use my sneak skills from oblivion, to get it in.

What is there to say, the crowd went crazy on EVERY song, singing around, and moving. After the end of EVERY song, DT had been awarded with BIG applause, which lasted at least one minute, so DT had to wait for us to calm down. DT played very good, Petrucci, Myung, Rudess and Portnoy are Gods on their instruments. Especially Rudess

Even LaBrie singed great, I was quite surprised. Overall great night, I do not regret anything. I have singed so loud and managed to lose my voice. Near the end LaBrie said, when we finish our tour, we have to come back here, you guys are great
