Chairman, I'm not glider, but have experience with illustration, and I definitely say digital art is much easier. The amount of tools/features that Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator bring make it much easier. If anything is hard to learn, it's the wacom tablet you're using. If you're using your mouse to draw, you're doing it wrong.

Now that you're doing digital, and see the transition is easy, he'll definitely feel easier about moving to digital art. But of course the features and the things you can do is way easier than physical , especially physical color media.

Yea, I felt like transitioning from physical to digital is really about learning the tools, learn how layers/history works, hotkeys, and getting used to the pressure sensitivity on the drawing pads. The layers, history is probably the most powerful tools you have for digital art in my opinion. Oh how great it feels to be able to draw over things without having to worry about fucking it up, and re-doing.

It's not too hard to pick up digital art (this is first full piece I did after messing with brushes for a bit) I already had some knowledge with Photoshop regarding selections, layers, tones, color picker, liquify, history and all that essential stuff so it wasn't too bad. Just the tablet that I need to get used to. I'm painting much slower here than I could have with experience definitely.
