That's true. However in this case I'm not sure quantity = quality. I mean, lemme do a comparison with Formula One : in the past, F1 races had fewer overtakes compared to today. Yet a vast majority of people who experienced both "old" F1 and "contemporary" F1 will agree that the "old" was more exciting. Why? Because overtakes were more meaningful, even though there were fewer. They were more impressive, more memorable, while today's overtakes are just a "push a button and overtake in a straight line". They are artificial, meaningless. That'll be, to me, the case with the "new storylines". Yes, there will be a handful of foreigners fighting for 8 guaranteed spots while there were 1 or 2 foreigners fighting for 1 potential spot. But that's precisely why it's so fucked up. 8 guaranteed spots. Guaranteed. Artificial. Meaningless. | ||
