Once upon a time we had the freedom to choose, between where and who to play, we could play with our fellow countrymen or ascend to another level and face the almighty Korean players. Once upon a time the game we played was so challenging, and so difficult, it was more the game we were fighting rather than the player. Now we play games and we often lose interest in them at an incredibly fast rate, why is this? ...

Once upon a time it was unheard of to coach for money, we all helped each other for free to help keep the game thriving and keep the community strong. There were times when boosting was unheard of, when hacking was extremely dishonorable and it wasn't something you would run into every single day.

Sometimes I remember logging on to USWest and seeing the legendary original faces that I would see all the time and new ones as well. I remember seeing and having a few words with Light[aLive] . I remember observing and receiving some free coaching from Doctor.K the SKT1 Protoss head coach. I remember having the privilege to get destroyed by many players a lot better than me and the joy of learning and seeing something that is a lot greater than me.

I remember spending 6 months of my life attempting to join a Korean Clan and finally accomplishing it, I remember how good it felt and I remember how difficult it was, things are not this way anymore. You cannot find this feeling anywhere anymore, it is not dead but it is no longer where it used to be for most of us.

Once upon a time games and the community are a completely different animal than what we used to know. We have come a long way in a progressive manner and I hope we continue to do so, but I hope we do not completely forget where we all came from originally.
